Search for a Pharmacy
- Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
- Open the Medications module and then select an active medication.
- From the Medications toolbar, select Send.
The Send Prescription window opens.
- Select the ellipsis button next to the Destination list.
The Pharmacy Search window opens.
- Enter the full or partial name of a pharmacy.
You can use the percent (%) and asterisk (*) symbols as wild card characters to represent one or more characters (for example, wal*).
- Enter the full or partial address of a pharmacy.
- If you enter city, state, or ZIP code, the full list of pharmacies displays.
- If you enter a distance of zero and a ZIP code, the results display only pharmacies within the ZIP code.
- The NCPDP field is used to search Pharmacy Direct pharmacies. Check these fields?
- Select one of the following types of pharmacy from the list:
- All
- Retail
- Mail-Order
- Specialty
- Long Term Care
- Select Search.
Note: Search results are limited by the setting in the Max Popup Rows universal preference.The search results appear.
- Do note the following:
- Pharmacies are grouped and listed as Retail and Mail-Order.
- The full list of mail-order pharmacies appear if you enter City, State, or Zip as part of the search criteria.
- The number of Retail and Mail-Order pharmacies appears in parenthesis.
- The default primary, secondary, and mail-order pharmacies appear with a notepad
icon.
- A tooltip appears when you hover over the notepad button indicating the type of default pharmacy.
- A check mark in the LTC and SPC columns indicate Long Term Care and Specialty.
- Select a pharmacy and then select OK.
