Search for a Pharmacy
Open
NextGen® Enterprise EHR

Open the Medications module and then select an active medication.
From the Medications toolbar, select
Send
.
The
Send Prescription
window opens.
Select the ellipsis button next to the
Destination
list.
The
Pharmacy Search
window opens.
Enter the full or partial name of a pharmacy.
You can use the percent (%) and asterisk (*) symbols as wild card characters to represent one or more characters (for example, wal*).
Enter the full or partial address of a pharmacy.
If you enter city, state, or ZIP code, the full list of pharmacies displays.
If you enter a distance of zero and a ZIP code, the results display only pharmacies within the ZIP code.
The
NCPDP
field is used to search
Pharmacy Direct
pharmacies.
Check these fields?

icon.
A tooltip appears when you hover over the notepad button indicating the type of default pharmacy.
A check mark in the
LTC
and
SPC
columns indicate Long Term Care and Specialty.

OK

Download a Pharmacy in the Medications Module
Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Medications module. In the Pharmacy Search window, select Add Pharmacy to System. The Find a Pharmacy window opens. Find a Pharmacy Enter your search criteria. You can use the percent (%) and asterisk (*) symbols as wild card characters to represent one or more characters (for example, wal*). Select Search. Pharmacies that match the search criteria appear in the Results section. Find a Pharmacy The results are grouped and listed by how the pharmacies are known to the system. The available groups are: New to the System. Pharmacies new to the system that do not match a record in the Pharmacies master file. Can be Mapped. Pharmacies new to the system that can be automatically matched to manually-entered pharmacies in the Pharmacies master file. Expired. Pharmacies in the system that are marked as expired by Surescripts. Expired pharmacies cannot be used for ePrescribing because all cross-referenced links are broken. Already Mapped in the System. Manage Patient Pharmacies
Use the Manage Patient Pharmacies link on the Send Prescription window to add the following default pharmacies: Primary pharmacy Secondary pharmacy Mail-order pharmacy In the Send Prescription window, select Manage Patient Pharmacies. Note: You must have the right to add prescriptions, and ePrescribe must be enabled for the Manage Patient Pharmacies link to appear. The Manage Patient Pharmacies window opens. Manage Patient Pharmacies window Select the ellipsis button next to the enter of pharmacy you want to search for. The Pharmacy Search window opens. Search and select a pharmacy. For the primary and secondary pharmacies, you can search and select either a retail or mail-order pharmacy. For mail-order pharmacies, a mail-order pharmacy must be selected. The Mail-Order Pharmacies Only check box is selected by default and the search results display only the mail-order pharmacies. Select Save. Electronically Submit a Prescription
In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open the Medications module. Select a medication. On the medication details toolbar, select Send. Note: If the pharmacy associated with the medication is hidden, a message appears with an option to select another pharmacy. The Send Prescription window opens. For multiple medications, all associated pharmacies must be active before you can send the medications. Only providers who are enrolled in ePrescribing and assigned a Surescripts Provider Identifier (SPI) can submit prescriptions electronically. If you are not enrolled, a message appears indicating that no SPI is allocated. You can contact your system administrator to check your enrollment details and see the Select a Supervising Physician section in File Maintenance. Optional: To remove a hidden pharmacy message from the Alerts section, select a destination pharmacy that is not hidden in the Destination field or through the Manage Patient Pharmacies link.
