Require a NADEAN for a Medication
To comply with Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 statute, you can identify the FDA-approved medications that require a provider’s Narcotics Addiction Drug Enforcement Administration Number (NADEAN) before they can be prescribed for the treatment of opioid dependence. The identification must be implemented at the drug classification level where both Generic Buprenorphine (single) and Buprenorphine+Naloxone (combination) medications are covered. The buprenorphine-containing brands like Suboxone®, Zubsolv®, and Bunavail® should also have this identification.
