Set Up the Provider Sign off Values for Orders and the PAQ

Order (Lab) results can be set up to display in the Provider Approval Queue to require sign off from a provider. Before you can use this function, you must have rights using the System Administrator. Open System Administrator and enter your credentials. Select the practice. Select View > Provider Signoff Setup. The Provider Signoff Setup window opens. Note: If you do not see the Provider Signoff Setup selection, select View, select System Info, and then turn on the Enable Provider Approval Queue check box. It should then show up in the View menu as one of the selections. Select one or more providers in the list, or select the All Providers check box to select providers. Select the Setup tab. Select the All Lab Results check box and select Use Encounter Provider or Use Ordering Provider. Select Save. PAQ Setup

The PAQ in the Workflow module enables you an easy sign-off capability for documents, images, notes, NextGen® Document Management images, orders, SAP® Crystal Reports®, and HIE documents. You need to use the latest version of SAP Crystal Reports. You must enter user name and password to access the PAQ Workflow module. You can select one of the available items to review, accept, reject, or create a new task associated with the item. The PAQ is an optional feature, available in System Administrator. If your practice does not enable the PAQ to use, the functionality for existing Workflow module remains same. If you enable the PAQ, the Top toolbar within NextGen® Enterprise EHR displays an additional PAQ icon . Select to enable the PAQ access and complete the setup for all applicable users. Provider Approval Queue

To use the PAQ, you must enable it first and set up the provider assignment and relationship, required signoff items, and operations rights in the System Administrator application. As a provider or delegate, you can access the PAQ from the Workflow module. Note: A patient Inclusion or Exclusion List may restrict your access to PAQ items. If you are a workflow delegate for another user or provider, you may not be able to access the same PAQ items as that person. If you do not have access to a patient, the Restricted message appears under the Patient and Description columns. Using Provider Approval Queue for Sign-off

When you file a document or patient encounter specifically to a rendering provider, the document appears in the PAQ for the provider in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. All documents require a signature in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR PAQ. Requiring a signature is a setting for the document type assigned to the image. The encounter number appears in the PAQ for the rendering provider. When a document with annotations is saved and posted in NextGen® Document Management, the annotations are not retained when the document appears in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR PAQ. Note: A filed document appears in the PAQ if the Signature Required option is selected and if it includes the Rendering Provider field on the Document Type, even if the document does not have the Encounter Nbr field for you to enter the encounter number. Set up a Provider Assignment and Relationship

To enable users to properly work with the PAQ and be able to sign off on items such as documents and images, you must set up the provider assignment and provider relationship. Access System Administrator. Select the User in the enterprise practice to set up a provider assignment. To assign to the selected user, from the Assigned Provider list on the General tab, select the Provider. The providers listed are those selected as rendering providers at this practice on the Practice tab of the Add/Modify Provider Information window in File Maintenance. From the Provider Relationship list on the General tab, select Self. If necessary, enter a date in the Provider Start Date and Provider End Date for the specific relationship you have selected. Select Update. The selected user is now configured and can sign off on items, such as documents, lab results, and images. Parent topic: PAQ Setup
