Button	Description
	Displays the Patient Education Browser window, enabling you to search for another topic.
	Goes to the next or previous topic among the topics you have recently viewed. Toggles between Healthwise Patient Education and the Healthwise Knowledgebase, after you have accessed it.
	Displays the Print window, enabling you to print the displayed topic to the selected printer.
	Accesses the Healthwise Knowledgebase.

Launch Patient Education Topics from a Template

Before you begin You must have your own provider license to use the Healthwise Patient Education Module. To obtain a license, contact your NextGen Sales Representative or NextGen Client Support. For more information on using the Patient Education module, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Healthwise Patient Education Integration Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can display a preselected or context-sensitive patient education topic depending on the Patient Education trigger setup. Context sensitivity is based on the CPT or ICD-9 code, terms, or title and language selected during the encounter. To display a patient education topic related to a particular CPT or ICD-9 code, a procedure or diagnosis must be saved to the encounter. After you display a patient education topic, you can save it to the encounter. The topic remains viewable when the encounter is locked. Toggle Between Healthwise Patient Education and Knowledgebase

When you have a topic open in the Patient Education Browser window, you can select Knowledgebase to view more information on the topic. The Knowledgebase displays search results based on a reference code associated with the Healthwise Patient Education search. The Healthwise Knowledgebase is an online health resource and encyclopedia providing information about medical conditions, symptoms, and treatments. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you add the Healthwise website to the list of trusted sites in the Microsoft® Internet Explorer to view the Knowledgebase search results. For information about adding websites to the list of trusted sites, see the Microsoft Internet Explorer Help. Open Patient Education Browser. Search for a topic either manually or by using the Search pane. Select the desired search result. The patient education topic appears in the display pane. Select Knowledgebase to access Healthwise Knowledgebase. The Knowledgebase search results appear. Select a result

Healthwise Patient Education

The Healthwise Patient Education Module is a third-party software package used in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. This module enables you to access educational material that covers a variety of health topics that you can print and hand over to patients. Print Patient Education Topics for Patients

You can print patient education topics to give to patients. Additionally, you have options to save patient education topics to the encounter and send them to the NextGen® PxP Portal when you print. Open a patient and create a new encounter or select an unlocked one. Open Patient Education Browser. Do one of the following: Browse for a topic and select it. Find a topic by entering search criteria find a topic by entering search criteria. Find a topic with Recommended Search. Add topics to the shopping cart add topics to the shopping cart. Do one of the following: In the Selected Documents list, select the check boxes for the topics you want to print. To select all the documents in the Selected Documents list, select the Print check box. Select Print, and then select one of the following: To print the selected document, select Print. With Healthwise Patient Education installed in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can perform the following: Access Patient Education Browser to search for internal and external patient education material. Perform context-sensitive searches of Healthwise Patient Education and practice defined patient education material in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Access Healthwise Knowledgebase through the internal browser. Save patient education material to a patient's chart or a patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account. Delete the saved patient education documents on an unlocked encounter in the Encounter History. Open Patient Education Browser You can open the Patient Education Browser window to search for patient education resources.
