Using the Due filter, you can perform the following actions: Refresh the list of orders displayed on the page. Delete an order. Release an order. Stop an order. Reschedule an order by changing the next due date. Auto Release an order or multiple orders. Goto Chart for a single order. Tracking to view comments associated with an order. Open a Patient's Chart
In a custom practice template with an Orders Management order control, you can select an order and use the Goto Chart command to open the chart for the patient associated with the order and view the order in the Orders Summary tab of the Orders module. The Goto Chart command is present on the Orders Management pre-defined filters and can be set up in user-defined filters. To use this feature, you must select the Orders Summary tab as the Initial View in user preferences. If you do not specify the Orders Summary tab as the Initial View, the Results tab (default) opens. On a custom practice template with an Orders Management order control, select a single order. Select Goto Chart or right-click the order and select Goto Chart from the list. The patient's chart and Orders module open. The order you selected is highlighted on the Orders Summary tab in the Orders module and the encounter is highlighted in the Encounter History tab. Track Order Comments
Open your custom practice template with an Orders Management order control. To add comments or view previous comments, select Tracking on the toolbar or right-click the order and select Tracking from the list. Note: If you are using a private or practice filter, you must select the Tracking command in the Display tab when you set up the filter. The Sign-off and Tracking Comments window opens. Review any previous comments. Enter comments. If you have created My Phrases, select My Phrases to select a phrase from the list. Do one of the following: To simply save the comments, select Save. If you add comments that require another user or group to perform a task, select Save & Task and select the recipient. Managing Unfinished Orders for All Patients across a Practice
You can select the pre-defined Unfinished filter to view unfinished lab and radiology orders for all patients in the practice, including unfinished orders from NextGen Care Population Management Hub. The filter displays the following columns in this default order: Image Type, Recurrence, Order#, Encounter Date, Patient, Description, Performing Entity, Provider Name, Test Location, Order Source, and Expected Result. The Order Source column identifies where the order was generated from, for example, Order Module, Template, or Bulk Order for orders created from the NextGen Care Population Management Hub. The following actions are available for this filter by default: Refresh, Update, Cancel, Delete, Goto Chart, and Tracking. The NextGen Status is New for unfinished orders. You can open one order at a time and enter the required information to complete the order. The NextGen Status of the order then changes to Ordered or Sent. Pre-defined Orders Management Filters
You can choose which orders to view on the Orders Management grid using the following pre-defined filters: Due ( Default ). Displays orders that are due within the next week. Overdue. Displays orders that were due within the last two weeks or that do not have results within two weeks of their expected result date. Unfinished. Displays all unfinished lab and diagnostic imaging orders with a NextGen Status of New for all patients in the practice. Different columns and Top toolbar actions appear based on the filter selected.
