Insert Order Results

If lab or radiology order results exist for a patient, you can insert them in a patient document that is displayed in the TX Text viewer. You can select from all available order results for the patient or filter the results available for selection. You can insert all or specific tests within an order panel. You can insert comments along with the results in the patient document.
  1. Open a patient document in the TX Text viewer.
  2. Point to where you want to insert the order results in the patient document.
  3. Right-click in the patient document, and select Insert Lab Results from the Document menu.
    The Select lab results window opens listing all the patient available order results in descending chronological order.

  4. To show or hide the column headers, select the Show Headers check box.
  5. To show or hide the individual tests within an order panel, do one of the following:
    • Select the Expand All check box.
    • Select the plus (expand) or minus (collapse) sign to the left of the Panel Description.
  6. You can filter the order results as follows:
    • To display order results for a preset date range, select Last 1 day, Last 1 week, Last 1 month, Last 1 quarter, or Last 1 year from the Date Range list.
    • To set up custom filters by test description, result description, result flags, and/or collection date range, you must refer Custom Result Filters.
    • To view only abnormal results, select the Abnormal Only check box.
    A message in red text indicates if results are filtered. To see all results, select Cancel Filter.
  7. To hide or show the Document Preview pane, select Hide/Show Preview.
    1. To switch the Document Preview pane between horizontal and vertical orientations, select Vertical/Horizontal.
    2. To select all test results within an order panel, select the check box for the Panel Description.
      The check box for each test result in that panel is automatically selected and all test results display in the Document Preview pane.

    3. To select individual test results within an order panel, expand the panel, and select the check box for each test result you want to include.
      The results for the selected tests display in the Document Preview pane.
    4. To enter comments, select the arrows to the left of Comments to display the Comments pane.
      Enter the comments you want to include. To close the Comments pane, select the arrows to the left of Comments again.
  8. Select the Insert Comments check box.
  9. Select OK to insert the order results in the patient document at the cursor location. If you included comments, they are also inserted.
  10. Select Save.
