Growth Chart Measurements
You can document measurements using the age-based Vital Signs templates for pediatric patients (vital_signs_peds_over2y and vital_signs_peds_under2y). You can access these templates in the following ways:
- From the Record Vital Signs template (VS_WA_Std).
- From different specialty Home and Office Visit templates.
- Directly from the Intake and SOAP tab templates of the Advanced template set and the Foundation template set.
Premature growth charts are generated when the Gestational age at birth field has a value of less than 37 weeks and a gestational age of up to 50 weeks. You can enter the gestational age on the Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs template or the Pregnancy/Birth History template. The best practice is to add the gestational age in the Pregnancy/Birth History template prior to documenting the vital signs of the baby.
The Pediatric Under 2 Years Vital Signs template displays a message when Fenton Growth Chart study data is used to calculate growth chart percentiles for premature patients.
