Pediatric Growth Charts

NextGen® Enterprise enables you to record a pediatric patient's body measurements and graph growth charts on the measurements using the standard NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine pediatric templates.

The growth chart uses data from all the patient encounters. For a premature patient, you can record prematurity and the gestational age on the Birth History template and the preterm growth charts are used for the patient.

The Growth Chart link is available on the Record Vital Signs and the age-based Pediatric Vital Signs templates. You can also generate growth charts from the File menu on NextGen® Enterprise. Different growth charts available in NextGen® Enterprise include BMI, height, weight, head circumference, and weight vs. length graphs.

You can indicate if the patient has down syndrome or turner syndrome on the Birth History template. Once selected, the values carry forward to future encounters, then for the patient, the Growth Chart link opens the specialized growth charts for turner syndrome and down syndrome. If the patient has turner syndrome, then the application cannot generate the growth chart for weight.
