The Midmark (formerly Brentwood Medical) interface can be installed to run on a workstation or on a server to run with multiple workstations with NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.0 and higher. Supported Equipment

NextGen Healthcare does not explicitly support any equipment interface over thin-client, terminal services, WYSE, Citrix, and so on. If the equipment uses a serial or COM port to communicate, you may forward the COM port over a thin-client platform. If a device manufacturer provides USB Virtual Channel software, you may forward the USB port of that device to the server. Note: If your equipment uses an RS232 serial port (referred to in Windows as a COM port, and typically using a DB9 connector), the USB to serial adapter should be Future Technology Devices International Limited (FTDI) based. Non-FTDI USB to serial adapters sometimes cause issues that are fixed by replacing the adapter with one that is FTDI-based. The circumstance of a thin-client implementation is something to discuss with the client's IT department before making a decision. For more information on how to use GE CardioSoft, refer to the GE CardioSoft Operator's Manual. Access the Integrated Equipment Module. Select a GE CardioSoft Resting ECG, GE CardioSoft Stress ECG, GE CardioSoft Spirometry, or GE CardioSoft Ambulatory Blood Pressure report from the IEM grid. Select View Report. Create GE Resting ECG Reports

Before you start recording, ensure that the equipment is connected to the PC. For more information on how to use GE CardioSoft, refer to the GE CardioSoft Operator's Manual. Prepare the patient for the test as needed. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, load a patient and select a location and provider. Access the IEM. Select Acquire Report and select GE CardioSoft Resting ECG. The GE CardioSoft application starts and displays the Test Information window. Before the test starts, configure and select the appropriate settings as needed. On the Test Information window: For each tab, enter or verify all relevant information. Then select OK. If you are performing a: 10-second ECG with analysis, select the ECG Acquisition button. Full disclosure ECG, select the Start Full Disclosure ECG button. Select the Stop FD/Post Test Review button to stop the test and display the Test Summary window.
