Adding and Tracking Orders Comments

The Orders Comments Tracking option enables you to add comments for any order type throughout the order lifecycle. For example, you can enter comments about whether a patient attended a scheduled appointment, if one test in a group of tests needs to be rescheduled, or if certain issues regarding an order have been reviewed with the staff. The system captures who added the comment and the time it was added. This provides a real-time log of order actions from initial creation to final result. You can access and add comments for lab, radiology, and immunizations orders. When adding comments for an order, you can select whether the comments should be used for tracking or sign-off purposes. You can access, view, or add comments when performing any of the following Order processing actions: Creating or updating a lab, radiology, or immunizations order. Set Up the Automatic Order Tracking Comments

Your practice can select the Automatic Order Tracking Comments practice preference to display system-generated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments window for various Orders actions. For example, the system can display comments when an order is sent successfully through an interface or registry. Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > EHR > Practices > Preferences > Orders Module. Select All tab. Select Automatic Order Tracking Comments. Select OK. Orders Module Practice Preferences

You can set a number of practice preferences for the Orders module in NextGen® Enterprise. From the Application Launcher, select File Maintenance > System > Practice Preferences. On Preferences List, select the Orders Module. View File Maintenance Mappings for a Guideline Test

You can view the test code mappings for a guideline test patient on the Care Guideline Setup template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Care Guideline Setup, and then select OK. The Care Guideline Setup practice template opens. Expand the Interventions/Test Equivalent Codes/Descriptions panel and select a guideline test from the Intervention/Test Name field. The File Maintenance Mappings grid refreshes and displays test code mappings to the test in NextGen test compendium.
