Create a Private or Practice Results Filter

  1. On the Results tab Filters bar, select Manage Filters.
    The Set Results Filter window opens. The initial display is for the All filter.

  2. Select New Filter .
    The default Filter Name for the new filter is Filter_ and the filter number. The new filter is added to the list of Private filters by default.
    • To create a private filter, select the Make this practice filter check box.

    The new filter appears under a Practice heading.

  3. Enter a Filter Name.
  4. Do the following in the Enter test description to filter section:
    • To add a test description, enter the description in the first text box, and select Add Test.

      The test description appears in the second text box.

    • To update the test description, select it, and then select Update Test.

      Edit the description.

    • To delete the test description, select it, and then select Delete Test.
  5. To only show tests that match the exact description you enter, select the Match exact names only check box.
    If you do not select this option, you can view tests with a partial match to the description you enter. For example, if you enter Cholesterol as the description without selecting an exact name match, this filter would display different types of cholesterol tests such as HDL Cholesterol; Cholesterol, Total; and LDL Cholesterol (Direct). If you select an exact name match, only tests with the description of Cholesterol would appear. If no tests with this exact description are found, nothing is shown.
  6. Do the following in the Enter result description to filter section:
    • To add a result description, enter the description in the first text box, and select Add Result.

      The result description appears in the second text box.

    • To update the result description, select it, and then select Update Result.

      Edit the description.

    • To delete the result description, select it, and then select Delete Result.
  7. Select the check box for any abnormal flags to filter, such as High, Low, Normal, or Abnormal.
    • To clear all abnormal flags, select Uncheck All.
    • To include all abnormal flags, select Check All.
  8. To display test results for a certain time period, under Enter collection date range to filter, do one of the following:
    • Select the last number of days, weeks, months, or years. For example, select Years and then select 1 to display test results for the last year.
    • Select the date range from the Start date and End date calendars.
  9. Select Save All & Apply.
    The new filter is created.
  10. To view the content of your new filter, select the filter in the list in the left section of the Set Results Filter window.
