Context Menu Options in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

On the Patient Lookup window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, when you right-click the name of a person or patient, the following options appear in the context menu:

OptionDescription
NewOpens the Add Patient Information window where you can add a person or patient.

Alternatively, you can select New at the bottom of the Patient Lookup window.

OpenOpens the Add Patient Information window for the selected person, or the Modify Patient Information window for the selected patient.

Alternatively, you can select Open at the bottom of the window.

ChartOpens the chart for the selected patient.

Alternatively, you can double-click the patient name to open the chart.

Eligibility InquiryOpens the Eligibility Inquiry window for the selected person or patient.
New ReferralOpens the New Referral Entry window for the selected person or patient.
Referral HistoryOpens the Provider Referral Inquiry window for the selected person or patient.
View HistoryDisplays at the bottom of the window the other practices where the selected person or patient has a chart.
Patient PortalDisplays the enrollment status of the patient and the Send Message options.

If you have not opened a patient the context menu appears as Enrollment and is disabled.

The context menu appears based on the enrollment status of the patient as follows:
  • Not Enrolled - Enroll Now
  • Pending - Enrollment – Pending
  • Completed - Enrollment – Completed
  • Deactivated - Enrollment – Deactivated
  • Declined - Enrollment – Declined
  • Deferred - Enrollment – Deferred
  • Account Deleted - Enroll Now

You can select Enroll Now to send an enrollment invitation email to the patient.
