Icon	Name	Description
	Person	Indicates a Person entry in the NextGen database.
	Patient	Indicates a Patient entry in the NextGen database.
	Enterprise Patient	Indicated an Enterprise Patient entry in the NextGen database.
	Open Menu	Provides windows "File Menu" functions - Open, Delete, and New.
	Who/When	Displays the Modification Information window.
/	Calendar	Displays the pull-down calendar within another window.
	Search	Displays a Search window.

Application and Patient Information

The title bar appears at the top of NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window and displays the application and patient name. When you open a module, the module name also appears on the title bar. If you open other items, such as templates, documents, or images, the item name and time stamp appear on the title bar. In case of images, the image dimensions also appear. You can display the following additional patient identifiers based on your practice preferences settings. Search for a Person or Patient

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. The Patient Lookup window opens. To search for a patient, enter the search criteria data. You can use different combinations of the search criteria to search for a patient. Select Find. People and patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the display in the Matching Records section. NextGen® Enterprise PM displays different icons for persons, patients, and patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. The globe People icon icon indicates people who do not have a chart. The folder Patient icon icon indicates people or patients with a chart. The folder with a small globe People or Patients with an enterprise chart icon indicates people or patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Patient Lookup Window Note: To prevent creation of duplicate records, it is suggested to use a different criteria for performing the patient search if the desired person or patient is not found. Using Layout and User Preferences

NextGen® Enterprise EHR layout comprises menus and toolbars such as Title bar, Main menu, Top toolbar, and Status bar. You can set the user preferences and work with patient encounters and categories. You can also view the calendars and icons, and access the Alerts module, if the Patient Information Card (PIC) is enabled. The PIC in NextGen® Enterprise EHR provides the following information. Status Bar Buttons

One or more of the following icons may appear in the Status Bar in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Icon Description Appears when you have new unread email. Opens the NextGen Mailbox window. Appears when you cut an appointment in the Appointment Book and disappears after you paste the appointment. Appears when you copy an appointment in the Appointment Book. Appears when you view a patient's records. Opens the Patient Chart window. Appears when you view an account. Opens the Account Profile window. Appears when you have open tasks. NextGen® PxP Portal Enrollment Status Icon

The NextGen® PxP Portal enrollment status icon is displayed on the Person/Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM if the practice uses NextGen® PxP Portal. The icon indicates the patient's current NextGen® PxP Portal status. Demographic Information in a Person or Patient Profile

On the Demographics tab of the Person Information or Patient Information window, you can enter the following data: General Information - includes name, sexual profile, social security number, and birth date. Contact Information - includes phone numbers, email address, and preferred contact methods. Demographic Information - includes marital status, student status, preferred language, religious information, and dental and primary provider. You can also enroll the patient in the Enterprise Chart feature. Insurance Information - includes insurers, authorizations, referrals, and eligibility inquiries. The optional and required fields that display on this window are determined by your system administrator's selections in Enterprise and Chart Practice Preferences. All required fields display in red text.
