Create a Custom Color

You can modify an existing color or create a color from scratch. To display the custom color palette, in the Color window, select Define Custom Colors >>. Enter the settings for Red, Green, Blue, Hue, Saturation and Luminescence, or use the slider to select a custom color. To modify an existing color, select the Basic or Custom color to use as a starting point, and adjust the settings. The new color you create appears in the Color/Solid display box. To add the color to the Custom colors swatches, select Add to Custom Colors. To select the new custom color, select it, and then select OK to close the Color window. The custom color displays in the Background, Patient, or percentile color swatch on the Graph Options window. Parent topic: Change Graph Colors

Select Graph Display Options

You can select options to: Change the monthly or yearly interval range on your graph. Change the background, patient, or percentile color on your graph. From the Growth Chart Graph menu, select Options. The Options window opens. Change the interval ranges or colors as required. To apply and view your changes on the graph, select Apply. Designing the Backdrop for Charts

Using the Backdrop tab, you can create the backdrop, or background, look for your chart. The Components section on the left of the window displays regardless of whichever tab you select. You can select the type of graph you want to use as well as the labels, legend, etc. The Type tab has several sections you can work with: Section Description Fill The Fill section enables you to select which colors and/or effects to apply to the different components of your graph. You can select from: No Fill Gradient Horizontal Vertical Rectangle Oval Brush None Various Samples Fill/From Color: If you select Gradient, this is the color that the gradation starts. Pattern/To Color: If you select Gradient, this the color that the To color gradually becomes. Frame: This is a frame for the entire chart. Manage User Preferences

From the Menu bar, select Tools, and then select Preferences. The User Preferences window opens. To set the default background color for templates, in the General tab, do one of the following : From the Template Color list, select one of the standard colors. Select Custom Color to create a custom color using the Color window. To turn the Auto Save option on or off, do the following: Select the Use Auto Save check box. Select the Up or Down arrow to set the Execution Time in minutes. The default is set to 20 minutes. You can automatically save the template you are currently working on at specified time intervals. The Auto Save option is not selected by default. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends that you leave this option disabled if you are a beginner-level user. To turn the warning message for overlapping active images on or off, select or clear the Warn on active image(s) overlapping other fields check box. You can display a message when one or more active images overlap other field

Create a Custom Color

You can modify an existing color or create a new color. From the Text or Bkgnd list in the Font and Color tab, select Custom Color. The Color window opens. Perform one of the following: Select the color you want to use, and then select OK. The Text box displays the color, the Bkgnd box displays the color, and the Sample window shows text characters in that color. Select Define Custom Colors>>. The custom color palette window opens. Change Field Color Trigger

The Change Field Color action enables you to change: Text color for label, active text, data entry (edit), and check box fields Background color for a data entry field Change the color of multiple fields at a time on a template Assign the color from a template field or variable at run time instead of during trigger setup. Note: Set colors for selected and unselected active text in the Values tab on the Insert or Edit Active Text window. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Change Field Color action. The Change Field Color window lists all of the template fields that can change field color. From the Available Template Fields pane, select each field for which you want to change color, and select Add. The selected field displays in the Fields to Change pane and the OK button is enabled.
