Adding Annotations to an Image

Use annotations to provide additional detail about an image. You can choose from a variety of annotations to suit your needs. You can add:

Text to add explanatory or informative notes
Freehand drawings
Angles and rulers to measure areas
Arrows, lines, polylines, shapes, airbrush color, and highlighter to show significance of an area

Work with Annotations and Imaging Components

Draw a Polyline on an Image

You can draw a polyline that is made up of multiple straight-line segments. Select an image. Select the Line Style Line style button button, and then set up the style of the polyline. Select the Polyline button. Draw a single line on the image, and then select to end the line segment. Continue to draw a second line segment on the image, and then select to end. Repeat the process to add as many line segments as necessary. Insert Text

You can enter text with the preferred font and style on the image to label or for any other purpose. Text added to an annotation stays together when you select either the image or the text and perform a copy and paste. To select text and images individually, select Ctrl and then select the text or annotation. Select an image. Select the Text button. Select and drag to draw a text box on the image. To change the font before you enter text, select the Font button. The Font window opens. Select a Font, Font style, and Size and select OK. Font Enter text in the text field. To enter modifications or to move the text to a different location on the image, select the Select button and select the text. You can move the text box to the different location on the image. Draw a Freehand Shape on an Image

Select an image. Select the Freehand button. If necessary, select a specific color and line style from the Style toolbar. Draw the desired object or line on the image. draw the desired image To move and resize the freehand shape, select the Select button, and then select the shape to select it. Using Transparency on Annotations

You can set an annotation to be transparent. Set an annotation as transparent to display the details of the image behind the annotation.
