Access External Provider Reference from the Procedures Module

You can access the External Provider Reference resource and search for additional information regarding the selected procedure from the Procedures module. Open the Procedures module for a patient. Enter a new procedure for the patient, if required. Right-click the procedure, and then select Resources > External Provider Reference. Access External Provider Reference from the Medications Module

You can access the External Provider Reference resource and search for additional information regarding the selected medication from the Medications module. Open the Medications module for a patient. Enter a new medication for the patient, if required. Do one of the following: Right-click the medication, and then select Resources > External Provider Reference. Select the medication, and then select Resources > External Provider Reference from the Medications module toolbar. The application directs you to the external URL you set up in your practice preference or user preference. Note: The External Provider Reference is also available from the Medication Search window. You can access the External Provider Reference resource and search for additional information regarding the selected medication allergy from the Medication Allergies module. Open the Medication Allergies module for a patient. Enter a new allergy, if required. Right-click the allergy and then select Resources > External Provider Reference. Access External Provider Reference from the Problems Module

You can access the External Provider Reference resource and search for additional information regarding the selected problem from the Problems module. Open the Problems module for a patient. Enter a new problem in the Problem List tab or the Billing ICD List tab, if required. Note: The Problem List tab has SNOMED CT codes while the Billing ICD List tab has ICD-9, or where applicable, ICD-10 codes. Do one of the following: Right-click the problem, and then select Resources > External Provider Reference. Select the problem, and then select Resources > External Provider Reference from the Problems module toolbar. External Provider Reference

The External Provider Reference is an additional external reference you can set up for your personal use. This reference can be any website that you want to refer for additional information. The External Provider Reference is not connected to the HL7 InfoButton, therefore context-sensitive information must be manually mapped to your templates. You can set up the External Provider Reference URL either at the practice level or at the user level. The URL set up at the user level overrides the practice-level preference. Access External Patient Education from the Orders Module

You can access the External Patient Education resource from the Orders module. The external resource collects the LOINC code or CPT4 codes for the selected lab result and the patient’s age, age range, gender, and observation interpretation flag (such as normal or abnormal). This information is passed through the InfoButton to the external system. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Orders module for a patient. Note: Orders must have results before you can access external educational resources. Select the result, and then select Resources > External Patient Education on the Orders module toolbar.
