Access Crystal Reports
Once the reports are copied, you can access them to begin the set up process.
From the Main menu, select
File
>
Reports
>
Crystal Reports
.
The
Report Dialog
window opens.
From this dialog you are able to set up your SAP® Crystal Reports® and printers, as well as generate and print the following report types:
This Encounter for current patient
- Only for the current encounter for the selected patient.
All Encounters for current patient
- For all of the encounters for the selected patient.
All Encounters for all patients
- For all of the encounters for all of the patients in the database.

Set Up a Report
Select Report Setup on the Report Dialog window. The Report Setup Dialog window opens. Select a report from the Report File list. Note: Only reports in the directory specified in the Universal Preferences appear. Select a report type from Report Type list. Selecting a Report Type assigns the report to the report type. Select Location for your report. Only providers at the selected location can access this report. If you leave Location blank, providers from all locations are able to access this report. From the Printer list, select a printer to print the selected report. If necessary, select the Filter By option. If necessary, select the Use Report Server check box. Note: To use this feature you must have the NextGen Report Server configured. Enter a user-defined description for the selected report in the Description field. Set Up a Printer
In the Report Setup Dialog, select Printer Setup. The Printer Setup window opens. Select a printer from the Printer list. Enter a printer name in the Alias field. Select the printer properties. Select Add. The printer appears in the available printers field. Select Close to exit and save your changes. You must do the following in the report dialog to generate and print a report: Access the reports Select the report type Select the location Set up the printer. Note: Make sure you have installed your SAP Crystal Reports properly before setting up your SAP Crystal Reports. Once you have completed these steps, you can modify the reports if needed. Access and Set Up SAP Crystal Reports
SAP Crystal Reports master files are stored in folders in the NextGenRoot folder. To use a report, you use Windows® Explorer to copy the report file to a location specified in the Reports Universal Preference. The Standard reports included in NextGen® Enterprise EHR are stored in the Distributed Reports Crystal Reports folder. The location of other report files can vary. After you copy the report files to the correct location, you can use the Report Dialog to set up and generate the report. Work with Generated SAP Crystal Reports
After SAP Crystal Reports are generated, you can update the settings and work with them using the Report Dialog or by accessing certain reports from within other NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules. You can also access generated SAP Crystal Reports that are attached to a patient's chart using the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Encounter History or Categories tab. For example, you can do the following: View provider sign off details. View the properties of an SAP Crystal Reports within an encounter. Export an SAP Crystal Reports to NextGen® PxP Portal (for clients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal). View the history details of SAP Crystal Reports sent to NextGen® PxP Portal.
