Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) has approved NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a CCHIT Certified(R) NextGen® Enterprise EHR. According to CCHIT, NextGen® Healthcare products meet the Certification Commission's NextGen® Enterprise EHR criteria for office-based use. A CCHIT Certified NextGen® Enterprise EHR ensures: Additional electronic prescribing features (access to the patient's medication history, formulary, and eligibility). Safer medication dosing, adjusted as per patient weight and other factors. Better ability to prevent adverse reactions due to drug interactions or allergies. Run CCHIT Reports

Once you have completed the installation and setup, you are able to run the CCHIT Reports. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Main menu, select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select CCHIT Audit Reports template. If necessary, select All option to display all available System Templates. Select Template Select OK. The CCHIT Audit Report template displays. CCHIT Audit Report Select the button for the CCHIT Report you wish to run. The Enter Values window opens. Enter Values Make any needed selections. Select OK. Set Up CCHIT Reports

You must have the latest copy of the CCHIT reports before you begin the set up procedure. Any potential updates to the reports issued between NextGen releases are distributed in download package from the Customer Resource Center (CRC) on the NextGen® Heathcare website. If you have download these updates, then start following the set up process from Step 2. Verify that the Distributed Reports folder and all its content exists on the server in the appropriate "target" environment. Access System Administrator. From the Main Menu bar, select View > Universal Preferences. Select the Reports folder to view the existing report paths. Check the location specified in the Alternate Report Path Universal Preference. Copy the CCHIT reports to the location specified in the Alternate Report Path Universal Preference. Import the CCHIT Template. Set up the Alternate Report Path. Set up the required Audit tables. To ensure the reports have been set up properly, generate and run a report. Import the CCH

In order to comply with the requirements of the CCHIT Certification, NextGen® Enterprise EHR includes patient chart and security auditing capability by using a set of standard reports.
