Print and Export Documents from the Search Results

Before you begin Before you can export documents from the regular Search Results For window, you must clear the Use Categories in Search Results checkbox in the Enterprise Preferences window. Before you can export documents from the advanced Search Results For window, you must select the Advanced patient result screen checkbox in the User Preferences window. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Search, and then search for documents or images.The Matching Records grid displays the list of patients who are associated with the documents or images that match your search results. To export an image from regular search, select the requireddocument, right-click, and then select Export.You can also export a document from advanced search. You can select the document by selecting the corresponding checkbox under the Print column, right-click, and then select Export. In Save As, select the path where you want to save the exported document. In the File name field, enter a name

Search for Images using Advanced Search

You can use advanced search options to find images based on the image scanned date, encounter date, and the person who scanned the images. For more accurate results, combine multiple search criteria. Note: Advanced search applies only to patient image searches. You cannot perform advanced search for non-person images. Open NextGen® Document Management, and then on the toolbar, select Search.The Image Lookup window opens. Optional: Enter any patient or image search criteria. In the Image Search Criteria section, select Advanced. In the Advanced Search Criteria window, enter the search criteria, and then select OK. If you search for one or more document types, then the Advanced Search Criteria window displays the fields associated with the selected document types. In Image Lookup, select Find.The Matching Records grid displays the details of the images matching the search criteria. To open a record, double click the record. Custom Chart Configurations are pre-configured searches that you set up in the NextGen® Document Management User Preferences window. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Custom Chart to open the Custom Chart Configurations list. Select the option for the custom chart configuration that you want to view. The application starts the pre-configured search and displays the results in the window. The window takes the name of the custom chart configuration that you selected. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Admin, and then select Preferences > User. The Doc Mgmt tab opens in the User Preferences window. In the Custom Chart Configurations section, select the open menu button, and then select New.The Custom Chart Detail window opens. Enter the name of the custom chart, and then select the Configure Search Criteria button.The Image Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria that you want to preserve as your Custom Chart Configuration. To add advanced search criteria, select Advanced, enter the criteria, and then select OK. Search for Images and Documents

When you search for documents and images inNextGen® Document Management,you can search among the categories, documents types, and fields you previously assigned to each document and image. The search criteria are not case sensitive. Open NextGen® Document Management. On the toolbar, select Search to open the Image Lookup window. To include images that are not filed to a patient or person, select the Search Non-Person Images checkbox. Search for a patient image by using one or more fields. You must enter at least two letters to perform a search. You can use wildcard characters (*), but do not use a wildcard character as the first character of your search criteria. Note: For accurate search results, you can enter more patient details in the search criteria.
