In NextGen® Document Management, the list of document fields include:
 
 
  - Patient Status (System defined)
 
  - Location (User defined)
 
 
 
  In the 
Filing Process window, both 
Patient Status and 
Location are optional fields and are available in the document filing process. If the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) is the selected document type and has 
Patient Status, 
Location, and 
Provider fields, then: 
  
   - The system retrieves Location based on the Practice selection.
 
   - The system retrieves PAQ Provider based on the Location selection.
 
   - The system retrieves Patient Status based on the Person selection.
 
  
  
 Note: In the 
Filing Process window, if you select a location and the selected provider is not mapped to that location, a message appears with the following options: 
  
   - Yes: To display a list of mapped providers to select from.
 
   - No: To retain the selected provider and clear the Location field.
 
  
   
 All providers display by default if the location field is not selected. To display providers by specific locations, you can select Location.
 
  In the 
Provider field, the system retrieves the value of the selected person's demographic from: 
  
   - The Default Rendering Provider field, if the Primary Care Provider checkbox is selected in User Preferences.
 
   - The Default Rendering Provider field, if the Rendering Provider checkbox is selected in User Preferences.
 
  
 You can set up the 
Patient Status and 
Location fields by using the data type master file and one of the following paths:
