Configure Scan Templates

You can create templates with pre-configured TWAIN settings that you can apply to a batch when you scan documents. The template adjusts the TWAIN interface settings that control the scanner.

  1. Open File Maintenance.
  2. Under System in Master Files, select Document Management, and then select Scan Templates.
The Scan Templates List window opens.
  3. Select the open menu button, and then select New.
    The Scan Control window opens.
  4. Enter a short description that indicates the type of scanning template you want to create.
  5. Select the number of dots per inch (DPI) to apply to the scanned images.
  6. Select the color mode to apply to the scanned images.
You can select Gray Scale to reduce image size and increase scanned image quality.
For example, for better image qusality when you scan insurance cards or patient pictures, use Gray Scale instead of B&W (black and white).
  7. Set the brightness and contrast of the scanned images, and then select how much you want the scanner to rotate the scanned image.
  8. Optional: If your scanner is a duplex scanner and you want to perform double-sided scanning of images, select the Scan Duplex option.
  9. Select OK.
