Scheduling Packages

You must create or select a schedule for each package. When you create a schedule, you can determine: When the package executes How often the package executes The length of time that the schedule recurs Whether the package executes at a specific time or within a range of times Note: Only one package can run at a time on one server, so any other package will need to be rescheduled to run after that package has run. You can either manually run it after that package has run or let it run at the next scheduled time. Create a Schedule

The schedules you create for a specific package are available for that package only. You cannot select schedules across different packages. (You can, however, copy an existing schedule within a package.) Select the Schedules tab on the Package Properties window. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button and select New. Right-click in the schedule list and select New from the shortcut menu. The Schedule Properties window opens. Enter a name for the schedule in the Schedule name field.Configure the Schedule type options to determine the time and frequency of the schedule. See the example below for guidance on setting the options. Note: For information on specifying holidays for the NextGen applications, see the Holidays Tab topic in the latest System Administrator User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. If you are creating the schedule for future use and do not want the package to use it at present, remove the Enabled option in the upper right-hand corner of the Schedule Propertie

Identify Duplicate Schedule Run Dates

When multiple schedules exist for a package, the calendar can produce a time when NextGen® Background Business Processor processes a package more than once during the same date. To avoid this occurrence, NextGen® Background Business Processor includes a feature that enables you to identify duplicate schedule run dates before they occur. At the bottom of the Package Properties window, select the number of days into the future you want NextGen® Background Business Processor to search for duplicate run dates between the schedules for the package. Select the option in the Show duplicate run dates ... command. NextGen® Background Business Processor displays a message to indicate which schedules (if any) overlap and when they do so. To stop showing the duplicate schedule run date message, select the option.

Delete a Schedule
