Create a Schedule

The schedules you create for a specific package are available for that package only. You cannot select schedules across different packages. (You can, however, copy an existing schedule within a package.) Select the Schedules tab on the Package Properties window. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button and select New. Right-click in the schedule list and select New from the shortcut menu. The Schedule Properties window opens. Enter a name for the schedule in the Schedule name field. Configure the Schedule type options to determine the time and frequency of the schedule. See the example below for guidance on setting the options. Identify Duplicate Schedule Run Dates

When multiple schedules exist for a package, the calendar can produce a time when NextGen® Background Business Processor processes a package more than once during the same date. To avoid this occurrence, NextGen® Background Business Processor includes a feature that enables you to identify duplicate schedule run dates before they occur. At the bottom of the Package Properties window, select the number of days into the future you want NextGen® Background Business Processor to search for duplicate run dates between the schedules for the package. Select the option in the Show duplicate run dates ... command. NextGen® Background Business Processor displays a message to indicate which schedules (if any) overlap and when they do so. Copy Schedules

You can make a copy of an existing schedule. The copied schedule can serve as a shortcut to the task of creating a new schedule. Highlight the schedule in the Schedules tab of the Package Properties window. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Copy from the short-cut menu. Select the Open Menu button and select Copy. The Schedule Properties window displays with settings that are identical to the properties for the schedule you are copying. The lone difference is that NextGen® Background Business Processor inserts "Copy of" before the name of the copied schedule. Enable and Disable Jobs

NextGen® Background Business Processor enables all jobs by default. A job cannot run unless it is enabled. If a job is enabled, but the package (or the schedule for the package) to which it belongs is disabled, it cannot run. Highlight the job in the Jobs tab of the Package Properties window. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Enable or Disable from the short-cut menu. Select the Open Menu button and select Enable or Disable. Enable Package

The NextGen® Background Business Processor enables all packages by default. A package cannot run unless it is enabled. If a package is enabled, but it has no schedules that are enabled, it cannot run. Likewise, if a package is enabled, but each of its individual jobs are disabled, it cannot run. Highlight the package or packages in the Package List. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Enable from the short-cut menu. Scheduling Packages

You must create or select a schedule for each package. When you create a schedule, you can determine: When the package executes How often the package executes The length of time that the schedule recurs Whether the package executes at a specific time or within a range of times Note: Only one package can run at a time on one server, so any other package will need to be rescheduled to run after that package has run. You can either manually run it after that package has run or let it run at the next scheduled time.
