Create NextGen® Background Business Processor Jobs
Open or create a package. Select the Jobs tab. Select the Open Menu button on the Package Properties window and select New. The Job Properties window displays. Enter a name for the job in the Job name field and select the job type from the list in the Job type field. In the Run as practice field, select the practice for which you want to send collection letters. Indicate the actions you want NextGen® Background Business Processor to take when the job successfully processes or fails to process. You can configure how NextGen® Background Business Processor responds to job success or failure by selecting options in the following fields: If job succeeds , then: Select the action you want NextGen® Background Business Processor to perform when the job processes successfully. Create Packages
A package is a container that holds all the jobs that you want to execute for a specific schedule. Select New from the Packages menu on the NextGen® Background Business Processor Manager main toolbar. The Package Properties window opens. Enter a name for the package in the Package name field. Set a priority for the package in the Priority field. Note: At this time, the priority settings are not used by NextGen® Background Business Processor. Leave the Priority setting value at 1. Select one of the following action on Upon completion list when the package processing is completed. Configure the NextGen® Background Business Processor to Process a Package Immediately
You can quickly create a one-time package schedule for the NextGen® Background Business Processor application to process immediately. Highlight the package in the Package List. Do one of the following: Right-click and select Queue Now from the short-cut menu. Select Queue Now from the Packages menu on the NextGen® Background Business Processor main menu bar. Automating Background Processes
The NextGen® Background Business Processor assists you in scheduling packages (tasks that require manual execution) for automatic completion. For example, you can create a package that automatically generates and prints the Daily Balance report at the end of each day. You can configure the NextGen® Background Business Processor to send a notification email after it completes an automated NextGen® Background Business Processor process.
