The pain level updates in the grid and the

column displays the current user name.
Note:
You need to associate the pain level with each vital signs record imported from the interface.

Vital Signs Monitor
The Vital Signs Device section displays the following: The vital signs monitor name that is connected through COM port. The first time when you connect the device to your personal computer and launch the interface, you may need to click the drop-down arrow to select the device name. The system then makes the selected interface as the default when you subsequently launch the interface. The Monitoring Mode field displays Continuous to indicate that the vital signs need to be captured continuously for the specified timeframe. If you connect a different vital signs device, the Monitoring Mode field is available for selecting the monitoring mode. You can click the drop-down arrow to select the mode of monitoring the vital signs of the patient. The Patient Information section displays the following: The patient's information uploads from the patient chart that is open in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Import Vital Signs from Interface to Vital Signs Monitoring Panel
In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, click Interface Vitals. The Vital Signs Monitor window opens. Vital Signs Monitor Click Interval (minute) and select the appropriate monitoring interval from the list. Click COM Port and select the COM port the vital sign device is connected to. Click Start Monitor. The interface starts capturing the patient's vital signs from the device every number of minutes specified in the Interval (minute) field, and displays in the Captured Data grid. Minimize the Vital Signs Monitor interface. In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, click Refresh. The vital signs import from the Vital Signs Monitor interface into the grid. The Recorded by column in the grid displays the value Interface. Maximize the Vital Signs Monitor interface. After you complete the procedure, click the Stop Monitor button to stop capturing the vital signs from the device. Close the Vital Signs Monitor interface. Modify the Vital Signs Record
In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, you can modify the existing vital signs records in the grid In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, highlight a row in the grid. Record the Pre-Procedure Vital Signs of the Patient
In the Vital Signs Monitoring panel, click Add. The Vital Sign Monitoring template opens. The Baseline Vital Signs section includes a grid to display only the baseline set of vitals documented in the Vital Signs Monitoring section in the template. In the Vital Signs Monitoring section, enter the required details. For more details, see the Enter the Vital Signs Monitoring Details. Click Save & Close to display the documented vital signs in the grid. The baseline vitals display at the top row of the grid throughout the workflow. The Height, Weight, BMI, and BSA above the grid displays the height, weight, and the calculated BMI and BSA values from the Vital Sign Monitoring template. The values associated with the Height, Weight, BMI and BSA labels above the grid dynamically update as you modify or add height and weight data on the Vital Sign Monitoring template. Reading the Vital Signs Monitoring Grid
To read the Vital Signs Monitoring grid, take into consideration the following: The system calculates the patient's weight in kilogram and displays in the Wt(kg) field. If you document patient's weight in the Wt(kg) field, the system calculates the patient's weight in pounds and displays in the Wt(lb) field. The height and weight details documented with any set of vitals appear above the grid in the Baseline Vital Signs. Based on the height and weight data, the system automatically calculates the Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Surface Area (BSA) and displays next to the labels BMI and BSA respectively above the grid. The Height, Weight, BMI, and BSA values auto-update as you enter new values in the height and/or weight fields in the Vital Signs section. The left and the right arrows at the bottom of the Vital Signs template are used to navigate to the previous or the next available vital signs records. Vital Signs
The Vital Signs section enables you to configure the following: BMI Calculation - If you select the Manual BMI Calculation check box, the BMI of the patient calculates after you click Calculate on the Vital Signs template. Note: The Manual BMI Calculation setting can be used when your system performance is slow. On the Vital Signs template, you can click Calculate next to the BSA field if the BMI value does not automatically populate after entering the required vitals for the BMI calculation. Document Display - You can select any of the following options to determine the way you want to display the vital signs records and the user name on the generated document: All Vitals with Measured By once at end All Vitals with Measure By on each row All Vitals in a condensed view Vital signs records on the generated document VitalSignsSpotMonitor (vital sign interface) - If you select Show Import and Refresh buttons and enable trigger to launch VitalSignsMonitor.exe, Import and Refresh appear on
