Pathology Orders in the Biopsy Log

When the system adds pathology records to the Pathology Orders grid, you can: View individual results Make changes to the record Task the order to another staff member Submit the charge for pathology reading to the Superbill module (Available for Dermatology and ASC specialties) Once a pathology order record’s data is displayed in the Pathology Results section, you can make changes and additions to the record, including updating the diagnoses after specimens are read and diagnoses confirmed by the pathologist. Skin Cancer Log

If the patient that you selected in the Pathology Orders grid has a history of skin cancer with skin-cancer-related pathology records, those records appear in the grid of the Skin Cancer Log panel. Access the Biopsy Log Practice Template

The Biopsy Log practice template does not display any biopsy or pathology records until you initiate a search in the Pathology Order Search panel. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. On the Select Template window, click the Practice tab. If you do not see Biopsy Log in the list, in the Show section, select All. To access the Biopsy Log template, do one of the following: Double-click Biopsy Log. Select Biopsy Log, and then click OK. The Biopsy Log practice template opens. Note: Some specialties, such as Dermatology, can access the Biopsy Log practice template directly by clicking the Biopsy Log sub-navigational link available on various templates, including the Intake, GET, and SOAP templates. The Biopsy Log practice template stores records of all biopsies for the entire practice. Biopsy Log

The Biopsy Log link opens the Biopsy Log practice template which enables you to view pathology results for a patient. The log can be filtered by specialty, location, provider, patient, order status, and other factors. On the Biopsy Log practice template, you can do the following: Update the order Send tasks regarding the order or results to staff members. Submit the order to Superbill Generate and save a non-cancerous growth pathology letter within the encounter. Record how and when a patient was notified of the results. Biopsy Log View Pathology Results on the Biopsy Log Templates You can view the dermatology specific pathology results when you select Dermatology as the Specialty on the Biopsy Log template. Search for Pathology Orders and Results

When you select the specialty All Others, pathology orders for Dermatology and Ambulatory Surgery do not appear in the Pathology Orders grid. The same is true if you select the specialty Dermatology or Ambulatory Surgery, pathology orders for the All Others specialty do not appear in the grid. Click the Specialty field and select the appropriate specialty from the list. If you select Dermatology as the specialty, the Dermatology Pathology Order Search panel appears, which includes search criteria fields relevant for dermatology. If you select Ambulatory Surgery as the specialty, the Ambulatory Pathology Order Search panel appears, which includes search criteria fields relevant for ambulatory surgery, currently GI. If you select ll Others as the specialty, the standard Pathology Order Search panel appears, with search criteria fields suitable for all specialties. Use the fields in the Pathology Order Search panel to enter or select search criteria to locate the specific pathology record
