Access the Biopsy Log Practice Template
The Biopsy Log practice template does not display any biopsy or pathology records until you initiate a search in the Pathology Order Search panel. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. On the Select Template window, click the Practice tab. If you do not see Biopsy Log in the list, in the Show section, select All. To access the Biopsy Log template, do one of the following: Double-click Biopsy Log. Select Biopsy Log, and then click OK. The Biopsy Log practice template opens. Note: Some specialties, such as Dermatology, can access the Biopsy Log practice template directly by clicking the Biopsy Log sub-navigational link available on various templates, including the Intake, GET, and SOAP templates. Track Biopsy Specimens Using the Biopsy Log
The Biopsy Log is the master list that stores records of all biopsies for the entire practice. To use the log, you specify a specialty and enter a variety of search criteria, for example, all patients seen by a specific provider on a specific date. The system displays all the biopsy records for patient encounters within the specialty that meet the search criteria. The Biopsy Log enables you to view pathology results for a patient. From the Biopsy Log, you can: Update the order, including the diagnosis. Send tasks regarding the order or results to staff members. Generate and save a benign pathology letter within the encounter. Record how and when a patient was notified of results. Submit to Superbill - This function is available to Dermatology and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) specialties, and allows the charge for reading the pathology to be submitted by pathologists to the Superbill. Biopsy Log
The Biopsy Log link opens the Biopsy Log practice template which enables you to view pathology results for a patient. The log can be filtered by specialty, location, provider, patient, order status, and other factors. On the Biopsy Log practice template, you can do the following: Update the order Send tasks regarding the order or results to staff members. Submit the order to Superbill Generate and save a non-cancerous growth pathology letter within the encounter. Record how and when a patient was notified of the results. Biopsy Log View Pathology Results on the Biopsy Log Templates You can view the dermatology specific pathology results when you select Dermatology as the Specialty on the Biopsy Log template.
