OB Provider Workflow

The provider workflow for an Initial Prenatal visit involves reviewing the information documented by the intake staff and proceeding with the patient encounter by documenting information on the Prenatal Detail and SOAP templates. On the first visit, open the Gestational Age template must be opened and verify the due date. Reviewing Obstetrics Details by Providers A provider can start the visit by reviewing the patient information documented during the previous patient encounters on the Home Page template for the Obstetrics specialty. Obstetrics Home Page Template You can review the historical information of the patient on the Home Page - Obstetrics template. Patient Tracking in the Provider Workflow You can update the patient tracking details using the Patient Tracking on the Patient Information Card (PIC). SOAP Template

You can review and modify the patient’s reasons for visit, review of systems, and vital signs documented by the intake staff on the SOAP template. You can also review the patient's visit type, alerts, and risk indicators. In addition, you can document the physical examination details, history, and plan information. You can review and modify the following details on the SOAP template. General information Reasons for visit History Review of systems Vital signs Physical examination Assessment and plan Although the you could enter the reason for visit and HPI on the Intake template, there are options available on the SOAP tab that are not available on the Intake tab. You can use SOAP to review the patient information gathered during intake and to document the exam, assessment, and plan. On the SOAP template, you can review the patient's visit type, messages, and risk indicators. You can indicate if the patient is new or established for the current encounter on the header of the SOAP template. OB Postpartum Template

The OB Postpartum template is accessed during a postpartum visit. To document a postpartum visit, select Obstetrics as the specialty and OB - Postpartum or Document Pregnancy Outcome as the visit type. Note: The OB Postpartum visit type can only be used after every pregnancy. If a patient is seen for a wound check after delivery, you must select the Post-Operative Visit. If a patient has just delivered and the practice want to document the details of the delivery immediately, you can select the Document Pregnancy Outcome visit type. The OB Postpartum template includes addition of the Postpartum Details and Pregnancy Outcome panels. The need to compile these data into a single template is necessary for a better workflow. The OB Postpartum template is created and opened from the Postpartum tab and reflects the compilation of the data from the Postpartum Detailsand Pregnancy Outcome panels as well as the additional 8.3.10 panels (Reason for Visit; Pregnancy Outcomes; Vital Signs; Assessme

Documenting SOAP Information

Use the SOAP template to enter history, exam, assessment, and plan information. Reason for Visit on the SOAP Template You can use the Reason for Visit to enter the patient introduction and additional details about the reason for visit. Physical Exam Panel You can document physical exam details. Document Review of Systems Details You can review and update symptoms entered during the patient intake process in the Review of Systems section on the SOAP template.
