Set Up Required Referral and Follow-up Plan Fields

A practice-level configuration is available to select which fields are required for the Referral and Follow-up plan types. In My Custom Plan Setup, General Configuration panel, click the Set My Custom Plan Required Fields link to launch a template with options for the required fields. My Custom Plan Select the required field name check boxes for Referrals, Follow-up, and Disposition. Click Save & Close and then click Save in the NextGen® Enterprise top toolbar. With the option turned on, an alert based on your practice's selections appears in a concatenated form on the My Plan or My Custom Plan template in run time. Access the Practice Configuration Template

For more information on the Practice Configuration template, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Practice Configuration Template User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Click the Practice tab. If the Practice Configuration template is not in your Preferred templates list, in the Show section, select the All option. A list of practice templates appears. Document the Treatment Plan on My Plan

The treatment plan for the patient can be documented on the My Plan (PT) template that enables providers to place multiple orders from a single template. The My Plan (PT) template is based on order sets for diagnosis categories that can be modified and managed by clients using practice templates. The My Plan (PT) template appears within NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine by default and can be easily replaced with the My Custom Plan template after a simple configuration in the Practice Configuration practice template. The My Custom Plan template can be personalized to suit your practice's specific needs and is less click-intensive. Create a New Order Set

The My Plan templates display all order sets that are available in the system, including those that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The order sets can be based on a diagnosis group, provider, or specialty (department). To manage clinical references, configure categories for order types or the master picklist, refer to the indicated link. On the Assessment Plan Customization template, choose a Display option to filter the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section by the Current provider or All providers. In the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, right-click and select Add New. The Provider's Custom Plan template opens. Depending on how you want to set up the order set, click the Diagnosis Group, Provider, and/or Dept fields to select a value from the resulting list.
