Add Items to the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist

You can add the screening questions in the Custom DB Picklists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select the Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items found in the DB picklist. Select the Add New List Item link above the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid. Step 2 Add/Edit List Item Select a DB picklist name screening_questions from the list that opens and select OK. Use the edit fields below the Add/Edit List Items grid to create the item. A list of required fields and the information they contain can be found in the screening questions DB picklist required fields. Select Add to add the item to the DB picklist. Screening Questions DB Picklist Required Fields

You can check the information that is required for screening questions. The screening_questions custom list has specific information that is required. These requirements are listed below. Panel Description Qualifier 1 Conditions contained in the care guidelines or protocols reference system. Set up on the Dx Groups Reference Systems system template. Qualifier 2 Text that concatenates when a yes or no response is selected. Limited to 20 characters The text displayed will be Positive for qualifier 2 or Negative for qualifier 2 List Item Contains the question that displays on the Screening Questions panel on the Care Guidelines template. It is recommended that the expected responses both positive and negative be grouped When numbering the questions, use a single space before a single digit number, and no space before a two-digit number Each question is limited to 150 characters The panel is limited to 15 questions per condition Parent topic: Screening Questions

Update Items in the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist

You can update or edit the screening questions in the Custom DB Picklists. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items found in the DB picklist. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid, select the row in the grid with the item that you want to update. Details for the row appear in the edit fields below the Add/Edit List Items grid. Make any changes to an existing DB picklist item using the edit fields below the grid. Review the Screening Questions Custom DB Picklist

You can review and add or edit the screening questions using the Custom DB Picklists. Screening questions are configured as a custom DB picklist on the Custom DB Picklist system template. CAUTION: Screening questions currently in the system should be reviewed for content by a practice before beginning their use in a clinical setting with patients. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom DB Picklists system template. From the first grid, select Screening_questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items section, select the Show selected DBPicklist (above) option. The Add/Edit List Items grid displays items available in the DB picklist. Custom DB Picklists In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items grid, select the row in the grid with the item that you want to review. Screening Questions

You can use the Screening Questions panel to view and document patient condition. The Screening Questions panel enables you to view and document patient responses to screening questions associated with a specific condition or disease. When you first open the Care Guidelines grid view template and expand the Screening Questions panel, it appears blank. Questions do not appear until you select a guideline listed in Outstanding Guidelines. Note: A guideline must have screening questions configured in order to have screening questions display. Not all guidelines have screening questions configured, for example, health maintenance. Custom DB Picklists Used with Recommended Care

You can configure recommended care guidelines on the Custom DB Picklists template. Recommended care guidelines are configured using custom DB picklists on the Custom DB Picklists Setup system template. Medication classifications are groupings of medications by similar class or utilization, such as beta blockers and anti-hypertensives.
