Remove an Individual Guideline Item for a Patient

You can remove an individual care guideline for a patient using the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel. You can remove an individual guideline item not followed for the patient. For example, a diabetic foot exam is not performed on a patient who is a bilateral foot amputee, therefore, this guideline item can be removed. To remove guideline items individually for a patient, do the following: Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Expand the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel. Select the item in the grid in the Active Guidelines panel. The item appears on the right side of the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel in black text. Select Remove. The item is removed from the Active Guidelines grid and for this patient. No changes are made to the guideline at the application level setup, and no other patients are affected. Ac

Removing a Care Guideline or Individual Guideline Item

You can remove a care guideline for a patient in the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel. You can use the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel on the Activate Care Guideline template to remove individual guideline items or an entire care guideline by disease condition. You can also restore guidelines that are removed. You can do the following: Remove a guideline by condition is only available for the most current encounter for the patient. Remove an individual guideline item that is not followed while the remaining items for the guideline are followed for the patient. Remove a guideline in the current encounter, if you add a guideline by mistake or it no longer applies to the patient. If the guideline was added in a past encounter, historical documentation is saved, but cannot see the guideline in future encounters. Restore a Guideline Item

You can restore a care guideline item for a patient using the Remove/Restore Guidelines panel. You can restore a care guideline or guideline item removed previously, so that it can be followed for a patient. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Activate Guidelines panel, select the Conditionfrom the list. Select Add to activate it again. This re-applies the guideline. Select Save & Close. Note: When you re-apply a guideline, the application goes through all of the existing items that are active, and only re-applies the one that is missing from the set for the condition. Filter Selected Guidelines in the Active Guidelines Grid

You can filter selected active care guidelines of a patient in the Active Guidelines panel. There are several ways to filter and display only selected guidelines in the Active Guidelines panel grid. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. In the Active Guidelines panel, to display only items due within a specific time period, select the Due within check box and then select the number of days, weeks, or months from the Show only items due within window. Activate Guidelines To display items for a selected guideline: Select the Display only selected guideline check box. Select the Condition from the list. Note: The grid do not display any items of a selected guideline that has not been activated for the patient. Select Care Guideline Items to Remove

You can remove a patient's care guidelines using the Report and Remove panel. In the Report and Remove panel, you can search for specific care guideline items and their associated patient level data to review and then remove, if desired. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, Select System/Practice Templates. The Select Template window opens. From the Practice tab, select All. A list of practice-level templates opens. Select Care Guidelines Clear and Restore, and then select OK. The Care Guidelines Clear and Restore practice template opens. In the Report and Remove panel, select All Practice or Current Practice. Select one or more search criteria for the following: Applying Provider Condition/Reason Guide line Item Note: The corresponding Clear link clears the field when you change or remove your selection. You can view the clinical references for a recommended care and care guideline orderable items on the Activate Care Guidelines template. You can view the web-based clinical reference for recommended care and care guideline orderable items. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Care Guidelines link on any of the main template. The Care Guidelines template opens. Select Add/Update in the Care Guidelines panel. The Activate Care Guidelines template opens. Select a care guideline item and select the Web button.
