Record a Patient/Provider Has Been Notified of Results

If a patient or a patient's provider (PCP or referring provider) has been notified of pathology results, you can record that information, including the date and method of notification.

  1. Select the specialty and perform a search for the pathology order record.
  2. Highlight the record in the Pathology Orders grid.
    The details of the selected record display in the Pathology Results panel of the Biopsy Log.
  3. To indicate that a patient has been notified, navigate to the Pathology Results section of the Pathology Orders panel and select the Patient Notified check box.
    The On date field displays the current date.
  4. To change the date, click the On field and use the calendar to select a different date.
  5. Click the Method field and select the method used to contact the patient.
  6. To record that the patient's PCP or referring provider has been notified, repeat these steps after selecting the appropriate provider check box.
  7. Click Update.
    This data is stored in Order Management for that biopsy record.
