Create a Customized Screening Tool

You can create a customized screening tool on the Custom Screening Tool Builder system template. Open the Custom Screening Tool Builder template. In the Step 1 - Name That Tool section, type a tool name for that tool. To select a specialty, do one of the following: To configure a screening tool for all specialties, select All. To configure a screening tool for specific specialties, select Custom, and then select the desired specialties on the Specialty selection window. Custom Screening Tool Builder In Interpretation, select the field type, and configure the interpretations. Note: The Configure text link appears when Picklist (only) or Free text/Picklist option is selected. Your data on Custom Screening Tool Builder template gets reflected on the Screening Tool Log Configuration template. Under Score, select the field type, and click Add. Document with Customized Screening Tools

You can document customized screening tools created using Custom Screening Tool Builder from the Screening Tools template. Before you begin Create a customized screening tool. For more information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Customized Screening Tool Configuration Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select the custom screening tool. The Custom Screenings window opens displaying the tool name in the Screening/Questionnaire field. Custom Screenings Select the questions and enter the answers that the patient provides. The documented questions and answers appear in the This Visit Screening/Questionnaire grid. Select interpretation and enter the score. Select Save & Close. Manage Screening Tool Records

You can update or remove an existing screening tools record on the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Performed grid, select a screening tool record. To update a screening tool record, do the following: Edit the necessary details of the screening tool record. Note: For records that are configured to open as templates, you must open their associated template to update scores. Select Update. To remove a screening tool record, select Remove. Note: You must be in the same encounter to delete the existing record. For records that are configured to open as templates, you must open their associated template to delete the record. Creating Customized Screening Tools

You can use the Custom Screening Tool Builder system template to create a screening tool containing questions, responses, interpretation, and simple scoring. You can configure the screening tool for a specific specialty or for all specialties. You can open the customized screening tool from the Screening Tools Available section on the Screening Tools template. You can open the specialty configuration homepage using the file menu. Open the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. From the File menu, select System / Practice Template.
