You must set the effective date for the 2021 Coding Guidelines in a template you open from the Cardiology EM Guidelines section of the Ngkbm Config template or the Practice Configuration template. You can set a date prior to the actual effective date for testing purposes.
- From the File menu, click System\Practice Template.
The Select Template window opens.
- Click the Practice tab.
- In the Show section, select All.
A list of practice-level templates appears.
- Do one of the following:
- In the third column, click the 2021 Coding Guidelines link.
The
EM 2021 Date Config template opens.
- Enter the effective date and then click Accept. To change the date you entered, you can click the field again, and select a different date.
- In the third column, ensure that 95 Coding Guidelines or 97 Coding Guidelines has been selected. For more information on configuring the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest E&M Coding User Guide for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine.
Note: The MDM not a required component check box is for use only with the 95 or 97 Coding Guidelines.
- From the top right of the Ngkbm Config template or the Practice Configuration template, click Save and Close.
