Enter Mohs Surgery Details

  1. On the Intake template, select the Specialty as Dermatology and Visit Type as Mohs Surgery Visit.
  2. Click the Procedure tab.
    The Derm Proc Mohs 1 template opens.
  3. Go to the Mohs panel and document the following:

    1. To add the cleansing agent, select from the Site cleansed with picklist or click the blank line and type a non-listed cleansing agent.
    2. To add an indication, select from the Indication 1 picklist or click the blank line and type a non-listed indication.
    3. To add a second notable indication, click Indication 2.
    4. To add a hemostasis agent, select from the Hemostasis 1 picklist or click the blank line and type a non-listed cleansing agent.
    5. To add a second hemostasis agent, click Hemostasis 2.
    6. To add anesthesia used, select from the Anesthesia 1 picklist or click the blank line and type a non-listed indication.
    7. To add additional anesthesia details, click Anesthesia 2 and Anesthesia 3.
  4. To add the findings and section, select the Stage 1 check box.
  5. Select a finding from the picklist, and enter the number of blocks or sections created using the numeric keypad.
    As you progress through the stages, the system calculates the total number of sections and populates the total in the Total Sections field. The system also calculates the total number of sections over 5 created at each stage and shows that total in the 5+ Blocks/Specimens Total field.
  6. To indicate the anesthesia used for this stage, click the appropriate Anesthesia option.
    These options correspond to the anesthesia specified in fields 1, 2, and 3 under Anesthesia.
  7. Document the following:
    1. Enter the number of milliliters of the anesthesia used in the mL field.
      The application calculates the total amount of each anesthesia used and displays the total amount in the Total (mL) field next to the Anesthesia 1, 2, or 3 fields as appropriate.
    2. In the Time Administered field, use the calculator to enter the hour of the day and then the minute of the hour when the anesthesia was administered.
    3. Select the AM or PM as appropriate.
    4. Indicate the size in centimeters of the tissue removed in the Defect Size (cm).
      As you progress through the stages, the application calculates the size of the defect and populates the Post op size fields in the Site Details panel with the size.
    As you progress through the stages, the system calculates totals for the number of stages, number of sections.
  8. To add comments regarding the Mohs surgery, click Comments.
