Edit a Joint Injection Procedure
Users can modify the procedure and billing information before placing the order or submitting charges to the Superbill module. On the Joint Aspiration/Injection template ,under the Injections section, highlight the row in grid. Click the Edit button to populate the fields in the relational box with the previously recorded data. Make the changes as needed. Click the Update button. Copy a Previously Documented Procedure
You can copy a previously documented item when entering multiple procedures in one encounter. Click the field next to Copy from to select the site number from the picklist. Make any necessary changes for the current procedure. Click Add. The copied procedure displays in the grid for Injections. Click the Verify Charges button. Record Details for Patient's General Response
To record details for the patient’s general response to the procedures performed during the current encounter, on the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, fill in the associated fields. Patient Response section The provider can also go back after the procedure is completed to fill in the Improvement by site and % Improvement fields. Select No or Yes next to Tolerated procedure well. To specify how the patient tolerated of the procedure, do one of the following: Free text details in the Comments field. Use the My Phrases functionality. There are several options for opening the Joint Aspiration/Injection template: To open Joint Aspiration/Injection template, do one of the following: On the Intake or SOAP tab, select the Procedures link. Under Biopsy/Aspiration section, select Joint Aspiration/Injection. Open Joint Aspiration/Injection template through Intake or SOAP From the navigation bar, click the Procedures link to select Joint Aspiration/Injection from the Biopsy/Aspiration section. Document an Aspiration or Injection Procedure
In the Joint Aspiration/Injection template, highlight the diagnosis in the grid under Today’s Assessments. In the Procedure field, click to select a value from list. Select a Location from the picklists that display for the chosen procedure. To enter the method used, do one of the following: Click the Method field to select a value from the resulting list. Click the top, blank row in the picklist to free text an entry in the Method field. Joint Aspiration/Injection template If a specific site was prepped, in the Site Prepped section, select Yes. To choose a value for how the site was prepped, do one of the following: Click the Technique field. Click the blank row in the picklist to free text an entry. To specify the anesthetic provided for this patient, do one of the following: In the Anesthetic field, click to select a value from the picklist. Click the top row to free text the anesthetic. Complete the Template and Submit Charges
When you have documented all procedure information, your final steps are to add any comments, capture any follow-up visit information, and then submit charges.
