Use the Observation panel to document details, such as gait, atrophy, ecchymosis, alignment, effusion, and hand dominance. Fields that appear on the Observation panel depend on the physical exam template that you have open and on the region of the body that you are documenting.
- On the Observation panel, click a pertinent field and select the appropriate option.
- For panels with right and left sides, enter the finding for the right side first.
- If left side findings are the same as the right side, click the corresponding double-arrow button to copy the findings from the right side to the left side.
- If left side observation findings are different from right side findings, click the corresponding left side field and select from the corresponding list.
- Click the Comments field or use the My Phrases link to enter comments.
