Enter Exam Findings for Strength

The Strength panel is where strength findings are documented. The body region of the exam template determines the links that appear in the Strength panel that enable you to document strength findings for additional locations and motor tests.
Strength

  1. On the General Exam PT - PE template, click a link in Strength panel to open a detailed strength physical exam template.
  2. Click Save & Close when you have finished documenting on the template.
  3. In the top section, document normal strength for the region by selecting one of the available options for Lower extremity strength normal and Upper extremity strength normal.
  4. To document that the strength is normal except for something:
    • Select the except for checkbox.
    • Click the corresponding field and select from the multi-select picklist.
    • If applicable, select the top blank line from the picklist to type a value that is not in the picklist.
    • After making selections, click Close to exit the picklist.
  5. Click the corresponding description field and select from the picklist.
  6. In the Measurement section, for panels with Right and Left sections, enter the strength finding for the right side first.
  7. Click the field corresponding to the strength location and select from the multi-select picklist.
    1. Select the strength measurement and the pain factor.
    2. Click Close to exit the picklist.
  8. If left side findings are the same as the right side, click the corresponding double-arrow button to copy the findings from the Right to the Left.
  9. If left side findings are different from right side findings, click the corresponding Left field and select from the multi-select picklist that appears.
    1. Select the strength measurement and the pain factor.
    2. Click Close to exit the picklist.
  10. Repeat for all strength locations as appropriate.
  11. Click the Motor and More Tests link to open the Lumbar Motor Function – PE template and document exam findings as appropriate.
  12. Click Save & Close.
