Document Echocardiogram Procedures

You can document the Echocardiogram procedure from the Echocardiogram template on the Echo navigational link.

1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
2. Open the Intake template.
3. Select Cardiology as Specialty and Testing Only as Visit Type.
4. Click the Echo link to access the Echocardiogram template.
   Note: You can also access the Echocardiogram template using the Echo link in the Navigation bar.
   

5. Select the appropriate check box in the Pre-Procedure Care section.
6. Enter the required information in the Test/Patient Data section.
7. Document the vital signs of the patient.
   Note: The vital signs information automatically displays if it is already documented in the Home Page or Intake template.
8. Enter appropriate values in the following columns.
   • Technical Details
   • Aortic Valve
   • Mitral Valve
   • Tricuspid Valve
   • Dimensions
   • Pulmonic Valve
   • Additional Findings
9. In the LV Systolic Function section, click each text box on the diagrams and select a value from the list.
   

10. Click Save.
