Clinical References

The Provider's Custom Plan and My Custom Plan Setup templates that are part of the Assessment Plan Customization template setup include the ability to enter, edit, and remove clinical references for books, journals, and websites. You can refer to clinical references to understand why certain tests are recommended for particular conditions. On the Provider's Custom Plan template, a chain link icon appears when a reference exists for the corresponding order. If there is an icon next to the row, hover your mouse over the name of the order, code, or chain link icon to display a tool tip with the associated reference. The My Custom Plan Setup template includes a Reference field enabling you to free text the associated link and informational text letting you know that valid references are mandated as part of clinical decision support requirements. Access Assessment Plan Customization Template

From the File menu, double-click System / Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, under Show, select All to search for and double-click Assessment Plan Customization. The Assessment Plan Customization template opens. Create a New Order Set

The My Plan templates display all order sets that are available in the system, including those that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The order sets can be based on a diagnosis group, provider, or specialty (department). To manage clinical references, configure categories for order types or the master picklist, refer to the indicated link. On the Assessment Plan Customization template, choose a Display option to filter the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section by the Current provider or All providers. In the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, right-click and select Add New. The Provider's Custom Plan template opens. Depending on how you want to set up the order set, click the Diagnosis Group, Provider, and/or Dept fields to select a value from the resulting list. Update an Order Set

On the Assessment Plan Customization template, choose a Display option to filter the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section by the Current provider or All providers. Depending on how you configured the order set, select the Diagnosis Group, Provider, and/or Dept fields to select a value from the resulting list. Double-click the order set to be modified in the Order Sets (My Plan / Custom Plan) grid. The Provider's Custom Plan template opens with the items included in the selected order set filled in for the different order types. Make the required changes to the displayed order set. Select Save, and then select Close.The updated data displays in the grid. In the Order Sets (My Plan / Custom Plan) section of the Assessment Plan Customization template, select Save & Close. Document the Treatment Plan on My Plan

The treatment plan for the patient can be documented on the My Plan (PT) template that enables providers to place multiple orders from a single template. The My Plan (PT) template is based on order sets for diagnosis categories that can be modified and managed by clients using practice templates. The My Plan (PT) template appears within NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine by default and can be easily replaced with the My Custom Plan template after a simple configuration in the Practice Configuration practice template. The My Custom Plan template can be personalized to suit your practice's specific needs and is less click-intensive.
