Configure Test Result Wizard

You can create new cardiac procedure test result wizards.

You can use the Test Result Wizard template to configure a result template for procedures that are not packaged in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. You must configure the Test Result Wizard template on the Custom DB Picklist system template. For more information on customizing the DB picklist, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Custom DB Picklists System Template for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. After you configure a procedure, the procedure name appears under the assigned category on the Cardiology Procedures template.
  1. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
  2. To assign a procedure to a category and template in Test Result Wizard, do one of the following:
    1. For vascular procedures, assign the vascular procedure to a vascular sub-category and template on the CARD Procedure Link Vasc DB picklist.
    2. For all other procedures, assign a procedure to a category and template on the Card Procedure Link DB picklist.
  3. Configure the grid labels for the result selection grids using the CARD Procedures List DB picklist.
  4. Configure the result values that appear in the result selection grids using the CARD Procedure Results DB picklist.
  5. Enter additional result details that are commonly captured for the corresponding test/procedure in the CARD Procedure Result Misc DB picklist.
  6. Update File Maintenance with the procedure name so that you can link it to an order.
  • Assign Cardiac Procedures You can use the CARD Procedure Link DB picklist to assign a procedure to a cardiac procedure category and specify the template that opens when you select the procedure from the list.
  • Assign Vascular Procedures You can configure vascular procedures to use the Test Result Wizard template by assigning them to a Vascular Category on the CARD Procedure Link Vasc DB picklist.
  • Add Result Selection Grid Labels You can configure the grid labels and grid contents for the configurable Test Result Wizard template using the CARD Procedure List DB picklist.
  • Add Test Result Values to Result Selection Grids Using the Custom DB Picklist system template, you can configure the values that appear in the result grids on the Test Result Wizard template.
  • Add Additional Results for Test Result Wizard The CARD Procedure Results Misc DB picklist enables you to add additional results or statements for the designated procedure on the Test Result Wizard template.
  • Add Procedures to DB Picklist Manager To be able to link the procedure to an order, you must include the procedures configured using the Test Result Wizard, in the DB Picklist Manager.
