Complete Behavioral Health Billing

The Start and End buttons are available here and on the General Info panel on the Psychiatry Eval tab. The values documented in either place are immediately reflected in the same fields on the other section. Entered times can be modified by clicking in the field. If desired, you can document the time values at a later date. It is important to follow the established format: 00:00 AM or PM.

  1. To finalize billing, navigate to the Behavioral health billing section.
  2. For the End time field, do one of the following:
    • Click the clock button to enter the current time.
    • Click the field to type the time that marked the end of the exam.
  3. If appropriate, select the option for Service performed by.
    The system fills the fields with the name of the current user and fills the Service Description and Service Code fields if a mapped service code is found.
  4. To select a different service description/code or if no matching service code is found click the Service description field to select a code in the Service Item Mstr picklist.
  5. To address multiple service codes returned after selecting Service performed by, highlight the desired row on the Bh Coding Select template and click Select to fill the Service description and Service code fields.
    • To select a different value, click the drop-down arrow to the right of the Service description label.
    The drop-down arrow only appears after a selection is made on the Bh Coding Select template. The arrow is the only feature to re-launch the Bh Coding Select template.
  6. If required, click the next available field to enter a modifier.
  7. Set the Time-based value to No or Yes.
  8. Click the Submit to Superbill button.
