Clinical References

The Provider's Custom Plan and My Custom Plan Setup templates that are part of the Assessment Plan Customization template setup include the ability to enter, edit, and remove clinical references for books, journals, and websites. You can refer to clinical references to understand why certain tests are recommended for particular conditions. On the Provider's Custom Plan template, a chain link icon appears when a reference exists for the corresponding order. If there is an icon next to the row, hover your mouse over the name of the order, code, or chain link icon to display a tool tip with the associated reference. The My Custom Plan Setup template includes a Reference field enabling you to free text the associated link and informational text letting you know that valid references are mandated as part of clinical decision support requirements. Create a New Order Set

The My Plan templates display all order sets that are available in the system, including those that are shipped with NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. The order sets can be based on a diagnosis group, provider, or specialty (department). To manage clinical references, configure categories for order types or the master picklist, refer to the indicated link. On the Assessment Plan Customization template, choose a Display option to filter the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section by the Current provider or All providers. In the grid under the Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, right-click and select Add New. The Provider's Custom Plan template opens. Depending on how you want to set up the order set, click the Diagnosis Group, Provider, and/or Dept fields to select a value from the resulting list. On the Assessment Plan Customization template, Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, double-click the appropriate grid row.The Reference System field automatically fills. In the Department field, select to select PT. Provider Custom Plan Select a Diagnosis Group. Note: It is recommended that you copy the reference used to all departments in that same Diagnosis Group in order to maintain continuity. It is also important to ensure that there is at least one test in the Diagnosis Group. Remove a Clinical Reference from Provider's Custom Plan

On the Assessment Plan Customization template, Order Sets (My Plan/Custom Plan) section, double-click the grid row for item holding the reference to be deleted (has a chain link icon). Filter Order type as needed to find the order with the reference to be removed. Do one of the following options: To remove every reference for that order type, select Clear All. To remove a single reference, select Clear to the right of that row. Select Save & Close to return to the Provider's Custom Plan template. Select Save, and then Close to return to the Assessment Plan Customization template. Access Assessment Plan Customization Template

From the File menu, double-click System / Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, under Show, select All to search for and double-click Assessment Plan Customization. The Assessment Plan Customization template opens.
