Implantable Device Cardiac Observation (IDCO)

The configuration in the IDCO section applies to the Cardiology specialty. The Implantable Device Cardiac Observation (IDCO) setting enables you to configure the order of the interrogation device fields that you want to display in the Interrogation Information grid on the Device - Card template and on the card_docDeviceReport document. IDCO section The standard IDCO interface is used to capture interrogation data from the interrogated implantable cardiac device. The interrogation data is then imported to NextGen® Enterprise through NextGen® Clinical Message Manager. Setting Up to Place Orders Directly from the Order Module

You can set up the place orders for guideline of the patient from the Order module. You can directly place orders for lab and radiology guideline items from the Order module by selecting the Enable Order Module setting in the Orders/Plans section of the Practice Configuration practice template. Selecting the Enable Order Module setting configures the Care Guidelines Paged View template to open the Order module whenever the check box for a guideline orderable item is selected. You can then place orders for the guideline item from the Order module. When you save the changes, the Order module closes and returns to the workflow on the Care Guidelines Paged View template. The status of the guideline item is updated to ordered and the date ordered displays below the Status field. Orders/Plans Section Open the Practice Configuration Template You can use the NextGen Enterprise EHR to open the Practice Configuration template. Add Cardiac Device Information

You can search for the cardiac implantable devices and add implantable device information. Before you begin Select the Manual Entry check box in the Device - Card template for the Device/Lead Info link to appear. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Select the appropriate diagnoses from DX1 and DX2. The diagnoses codes have been automatically entered next to the selected diagnosis. Device - Card Click Managing Dr, and select the provider. Click the Device/Lead Info link. The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens. Note: The interface type of the implant has been automatically entered. Select the Device option. Implant Information - Device Click the search icon . Search for and select the required implantable device. The Brand Name/Description, Manufacturer, and Model fields have been filled with the details of the selected implantable device. Document Interrogation Data

You can document the interrogation details of a device. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Select the Manual Entry check box. In the Interrogation Information section, click the Interrogation Data link. The Interrogation Data - Device template opens. Interrogation Data - Device In the Interrogation Data section, do the following: Enter the interrogation date, time, and underlying heart rhythm of the patient. Select the device to be interrogated. The interface type is automatically entered. Enter the symptoms of the patient. Select the dependency of the patient. Enter the life expectancy of the patient. Enter the last interrogation date and the voltage and impedance value of the battery. Enter the type of interrogation and the name of the provider who does the interrogation. Sort the Patient Discharge Instructions

The discharge instructions in the run-time Procedure Patient Discharge Instructions panel are in the same order as the procedure order in the grid on the Procedure Order & Discharge Instruction practice template. In the practice template, you can sort the discharge instructions in the grid as follows: To view discharge instructions configured for a specific specialty, click Specialty and then select a specialty from the list. Click the Patient Discharge Instructions option. (Optional) Select a Procedure and Category. The grid displays the pre-configured discharge instructions associated with the selected procedure and category. Select any of the following Sort options below the grid: Category - To change the position of the discharge instructions associated with the selected category based on the selected sort functionality. Edit and Use Preconfigured Procedure Orders

In theProcedure Orderssection, from theProcedurelist, select the procedure for which you want to place the order. The list includes all the procedures entered in theProceduresection of theASC - Intaketemplate. Select the type and category of the procedure order. All the preconfigured procedure orders matching the selected type and category appear in a grid. Procedure Orders From the grid, select the preconfigured procedure order that you want to edit and use. To verify the procedure orders automatically on moving to the Today's Procedure grid, select the Verify Procedure Orders when added to Today's Orders check box. Note: When you select medication procedure orders, the drug interaction window containing all the interactions for the selected medication opens. You must acknowledge the interactions to proceed with the order. The details of the selected procedure order appear in the relevant fields. Make the desired changes in the fields. Click Add.
