Calculate Framingham Coronary Heart Disease Risk

You can calculate the Framingham Coronary Heart Disease risk using the Screening tools. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Click the Navigation bar. Click Screening Tools. Click the Framingham CHD 10 year risk link. The Coronary Heart Disease Risk Calculator template opens. To estimate the patient's 10-year risk of developing Hard CHD (Myocardial Infarction and Coronary Death), click the Calculate 10-Year Risk button. The patient's risk score appears in the text area. Accessing the CHA2DS2 VASc- Screening Template

You can use the CHA2DS2 VASc - Screening template to calculate the CHA2DS2 VASc score, view recommended drug therapies, and place an order. You can access the CHA2DS2 VASc - Screening template on the Screening Tools template, which shares its fields with the HPI AFib AFlutter ATach (AFib HPI) template. Regardless of which template you use to record the CHA2DS2 VASc score, the details appear in the Screening Tools Performed grid. However, after you use the HPI AFib AFlutter ATach (AFib HPI) template, you cannot make changes to the Screening Tools template. The application redirects you to the HPI AFib AFlutter ATach (AFib HPI) template. Provider reviews the patient's summary on the Home Page and proceeds to the SOAP and the Finalize templates. The following table shows the risk indicators that appear for hypertension, diabetes, and coronary artery disease (CAD) when the corresponding options are selected on the Risk Factors Config template. Viewing Risk Factors

You can view details about patients' risk factors to help you to evaluate their health condition. The risk indicators for Tobacco use (TOB), Hypertension (HTN), Diabetes (DM), and Coronary artery disease (CAD) are available for documentation in NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine. Risk factors You can use the Risk Factors Config template to indicate a patient's current health conditions. You cannot consider a patient's health at high risk by looking at these conditions or you can view the risk indicator icons without opening the template. If you want to indicate that the patient is at high risk for developing a certain condition, you can document such details on the Care Guidelines template. You can use the risk indicators to review the risk factors without opening the Risk Factors Config template. Document the Risk Factors You can document the risk factors for patients. A Risk Factors dashboard displays risk indicators for Tobacco use (TOB), Hypertension (HTN), Diabetes (DM), and Coronary artery disease (CAD) on every template in an open chart. The Risk Factors Config template is used to indicate conditions that the patient already has - not conditions that are considered to be high risk for the patient. Providers or clinical staff members must manually enter this information to provide a quick visual cue to all staff members. Document the Risk Factors You can document the risk factors for patients.
