Update Blood Pressure Alert Preferences

Open the Vital Signs Configuration template. Expand the Adult/Pediatric Alerts panel. To filter the records in the Blood Pressure grid, enter the Age From and Age To fields and then click Search. In the Blood Pressure grid, double-click a row that holds the alert to be modified. The Blood Pressure Alerts template opens. Blood Pressure Alerts Select the patient's sex. To enable entering the height percentile, the BP percentile, and the diastolic alert, select the Add Ht. Percentile and BP Percentile check box. The BP Alert field changes to Systolic Alert alert. For pediatric patients, the system automatically fills Ht Percentile, BP Percentile, and Systolic Alert fields. For adult and pediatric patients, you can manually enter or edit the fields. To modify the age range of the patients you want to set the alert for, enter or update From and To fields. Update Adult and Pediatric BMI Preferences

You can configure the Body Mass Index (BMI) alert preferences for all vital signs in the BMI section. Access the Vital Signs Configuration template. Expand the Adult/Pediatric Alerts panel. In the BMI grid, double-click the row that holds the alert to be modified. The Adult/Pediatric BMI Alerts template opens. Adult/Pediatric BMI Alerts Update the lower and upper age limits in the Age From and To fields, respectively. Click the BMI Unit field to select either Percentile or Value. Note: BMI unit is set to Percentile by default and the Percentile From and To fields are available to set those parameters. If you select Value in the BMI Unit field, the system automatically displays the Value From and To fields. If the patient is 20 years or older, only Value can be selected from the BMI Unit field. Manage Pediatric Vital Signs Preferences

You can manage/change the preferences of pediatric vital signs used across NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine templates using the Vital Signs Configuration practice template. The pediatric vital signs include heart rate, respiratory rate, fever and blood pressure. You can also configure Body Mass Index (BMI) for pediatric or adult vital signs preferences, percentile calculation settings, patient height settings, and restore the vital signs preferences to the system default values. Document Blood Pressure and Pulse

You can measure a patient's blood pressure and pulse. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. On Top Toolbar, select Templates . The Select Template window opens. Open the Intake template. In the Vital Signs panel, select Add. The Pediatric [Age] Vital Signs template opens. Enter the blood pressure reading in the Systolic and Diastolic fields within the 0 – 399 range. Note: If the readings are out of the normal range, a message appears. Update the Heart Rate Alert Preferences

You can update the heart rate alert preferences for pediatric vital signs in the Heart Rate section. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the Practice tab, select the All option. Select Vital Signs Configuration, and then select OK.The Vital Signs Configuration practice template opens. In the Heart Rate grid, double-click the row to modify.The Pediatric Heart Rate Alerts template opens. Pediatric heart rate alert window to update an alert depending on the age Select the age range and the lower and upper limits of the heart rate for the patient. In Alert, enter the updated message. Note: NextGen Healthcare recommends limiting the alert message to 35 characters. Optional: Select the icon to update other alert preferences. Select Save and then select Close.
