Bill a Procedure

Click Procedure and select a procedure from the list. The list includes procedures selected in the current encounter. A list appears to select a procedure description associated with the code. Select a description from the list. The procedure description and the associated procedure code appear in the Procedure description field and CPT code field respectively. Click Dx Description 1 and select a diagnosis. The associated diagnosis code appears in the Code field. If applicable, enter a diagnosis in the Dx Descriptions 2 through Dx Descriptions 4 fields. Click Add. The documented procedures appear in the grid. Note: The diagnosis selected in the Dx Description fields uploads in the Today's Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template. To remove an entry from the grid, highlight a row in the grid and click Remove before submitting charges. Click the Verify Charges button. The Verify Charges button hides and the selected Charges verified check box appears. Click Submit to Sup

Upload the Billing Data in the Procedure Billing Data

In the Procedure Billing panel, click the Auto Billing button. The billing data uploads to the grid. The Auto Billing button becomes unavailable for selection. Note: To display a diagnosis code in the grid, you need to first click the Auto Dx button in the Assessment/Plan panel to upload the diagnosis details in the Today's Assessments grid on the Add or Update Assessment template. If you update or select the new values in the Documentation and/or Findings panel, the Auto Billing button becomes available for selection. Procedure Billing After the required billing data is available in the grid, click the Verify Charges button. The Charges verified check box appears. This check box is selected and cannot be cleared. Procedure Billing If a diagnosis code is not associated with the procedure code in the Procedure Documentation Config practice template, then an alert message appears to add a diagnosis code after you click the Verify Charges button. Buttons on the Documentation Panel

The Documentation panel includes the buttons described in the table. Button Description Previous Level Moves back to the previous level if you have more than one level for the selected value. The button is inactive for the first level content. You need to highlight a row in the grid and click the Previous Level button to view the previous level data. Next Level Moves to the next level if you have more than one level for the selected value. The button is inactive for the last level content. You need to select a row in the grid and click the Next Level button to view the next level data. In run time, the configured section and/or sub-section values appear in the right grid of the ASC Procedure Documentation and ASC Phy Procedure Findings templates. If you select a value associated with the diagnosis and procedure code, system updates the procedure, and the diagnosis description and billing code in the Procedure Billing panel after you click the Auto Billing button. Add More Details to the Findings

To add any additional details to the findings, click the Add/Edit Comments button. The ASC Phy Procedure comment template opens. ASC Phy Procedure comment In the Comments field, enter any additional information and click Add. You can use the My Phrases link at the top-right of the Comments field to add comments. For more information on managing and using the My Phrases functionality, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest Getting Started User Guide forNextGen®Adaptive Content Engine. Click Close. The entered comment adds to the end of the concatenated record in the field below the View label. If you select the Default paragraph view to editable check box on the Procedure Documentation Config practice template, then the My Phrases and Manage My Phrases links appear in the Documentation panel to add and/or select comments. Access the Procedure Documentation Config Practice Template

The Procedure Documentation Config practice template enables you to configure procedure documentation and findings. The configured content appears in the run-time Documentation panel and Findings panel on the ASC - Physician Procedure template. From the File menu, select System \ Practice Template. In Select Template, click the Practice tab. In the Show section, click All.A list of practice templates opens. Select Procedure Documentation Config. Click OK. The Procedure Documentation Config practice template opens. To configure specialty-specific procedure documentation and finding content, click Specialty and select a specialty from the list.The icon is available to view instructions on how to use the Procedure Documentation Config practice template.
