Associate Patient’s Active Medications with Diagnoses

  1. Open the Associate Medications template.
    The Associate Medications template opens.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • If you have not specified the problem and the associated medication or if you have only specified the problem in the Chronic Conditions template, then on the Associate Medications template, the All option is selected by default and the Diagnosis, ICD Code, Medication, Dx1, Dx2, and Dx3 fields are unavailable. You can view all the active medications and active diagnoses.
      • Select a medication from the Active medications grid.
      • Select an active diagnosis for first, second, and third diagnosis (that is, Dx1, Dx2, and Dx3) respectively from the Active diagnoses grid.
    • If the Problem description and the associated ICD description are selected in the Chronic Conditions template, the system automatically fills the Diagnosis, ICD Code, Dx1, Dx2, and Dx3 fields. You can view all the active medications associated with the selected diagnosis.
      • Select a medication from the Active medications grid.
      • Select Dx1, Dx2, or Dx3 and modify the diagnosis by selecting a different value from the Active diagnosis grid, if required.
  3. Select Update.
    The selected medication and active diagnoses are associated.
  4. Select Close to close the Associate Medications template.
