Document Anticipatory Guidance

You can document the anticipatory guidance details of a well child in the Peds Plan template. Open the Pediatric SOAP template. In the Assessment/Plan panel, click Anticipatory Guidance . The Peds Plan template opens based on the age of the patient. The Well Child Age field displays the well child age of the patient by default. You can change Well Child Age to previous or any older age group for the patients who have not visited the office for some time. Peds Plan The Description field in the Assessment section displays the default text for a routine child health exam. To change the diagnosis, click Description to open the diagnosis search window and select the assessment. The selected diagnosis and the associated code appear in the Description field and Code field, respectively. Assessment and Plan for Well Child

You can use the Assessment / Plan panel on the Pediatric SOAP template to document assessments, postoperative concerns, follow-up details, treatment plans, lab orders, referrals, office procedures, anticipatory guidance, and more. In the Assessment / Plan panel on the Pediatric SOAP template, you can find the following options for a well child encounter. The Anticipatory Guidance button to document the anticipatory guidance details. The assessment Encounter for routine child health examination without abnormal findings (Z00.129) in the grid to document the routine child health exam. You can click the assessment to directly enter the assessment and plan details on the Add or Update Assessment template. You can also use the Add Assessment button on the Add or Update Assessment template to enter assessment and plan details. Configuring Anticipatory Guidance Content

You can enable practices to configure detailed selections that are no longer available in the Bright Futures Fourth Edition. On the Peds Anticipatory Guidance Setup practice template, you can do the following: The Bright Futures Fourth Edition entries are read-only, but if your practice needs guidance selections that are more detailed than what is available in the 4th edition, you can add up to three customized fields to display in the sections under Anticipatory Guidance on the Peds Plan template. The fields added by the practice are indicated in the Peds Plan template with an arrow next to those items. This enables you to use the top three, most-used, practice items as a check box in the respective section. General Information for Well Child Visit

You can enter a patient's general information. The General panel on the Pediatric SOAP template displays whether the patient is new or established. You can view the patient's well child age and review the previous well child visits and documents. General panel In the General panel, you can do the following: View the patient's well child age based on the patient's date of birth in the Well Child Age list, and select a different well child age from the Select different well child visit list, if required. When you select a different well child age in Select different well child visit, the selected age appears in Well Child Age. View the patient's most recent well child encounter in the Previous Well Child Visit field. View the Chart Note or Master document from previous encounters using the Open Selected Well Child Visit button. Pediatric Patient's Immunizations

You can view the status and schedule of recommended immunizations for pediatric patient. The Peds Immunizations link on the Intake template opens the Immunization - Pediatric template and provides access to the Immunizations module, where you can order new, chart historical, or document excluded immunizations for the patient. Peds Anticipatory Guidance Setup

The Peds Plan runtime template displays a single, Bright Futures Fourth Edition age group with unique content that automatically fetched based on the patient's age. On the Peds Anticipatory Guidance Setup practice template, you can configure some options for each age group to display on Peds Plan. On the practice template, the Bright Futures entries are read-only. You can have more detailed guidance selections than what is available in the Fourth edition by adding up to three, customized fields for the Anticipatory Guidance sections on the Peds Plan template. Use these fields for the three, most frequently documented guidance selections. You can create other practice-specific guidance selections by configuring the picklist for the Other fields in every section available for any age group. You can also change the My Plan link in the Peds Plan template to open another template.
