Document SBIRT Screening

You can document SBIRT screening information to analyze a patient's need for intervention or for referral to treatment. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. SBIRT Screening Template Select a performed date. Document the following details in the respective panels: Pre-Screening Questions Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions Note: Based on the configuration done in the SBIRT section on the Practice Configuration practice template, you can make the Pre-Screening Questions and Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panels available or hidden. Screening Brief Intervention Referral to Treatment SBIRT Billing Select Save & Close.The documented details appear in the Screening Tools Performed grid on the Screening Tools template with the corresponding templates. Open the SBIRT Screening Template

You can open the SBIRT Screening template from the Screening Tools template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens. Open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions Template

You can open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template on the Custom DBPicklists template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From File, select System / Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. On the System tab, select the All option. Select Custom DB Picklists, and then select OK. The Custom DB Picklists system template opens. Custom DB Picklists In the Select a Custom DBPicklist to Update section, in the Dbpicklist Name column, select SBIRT prescreen questions. In the Step 2 Add/Edit List Items panel header, select Configure. The SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template opens. Configure Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions

You can configure questions that appear in the Practice Defined Pre-screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. Open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions Enter a question, and then select Add. The added question appears in the grid in the Question # section. Note: You can add a maximum of four questions. Select a question, enter a response, and then select Add. The response is added and appears in the Response grid. Note: You can add multiple responses for each question. Select Save & Close. The questions and their responses appear in the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Screening template. Manage Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions and Responses

Open the SBIRT Pre-Screening Questions template. To update a question, select and then edit the question, and then select Update. To update a response, select the question and its response, then update the response, and then select Update. To delete a question, select the question, and then select Remove. To delete a response, select the question and then its response, and then select Remove. To view any modified questions and responses, open the SBIRT Screening template, open the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel, and then select Clear for Add. Document Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions

You can document pre-screening questions configured for your practice in the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel on the SBIRT Screening template. Before you begin You can enable the Practice Defined Pre-Screening Questions panel in the SBIRT section of the Practice Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the navigation bar, select Screening Tools. The Screening Tools template opens. In the Screening Tools Available section, select Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT). The SBIRT Screening template opens.
